Immutable Passport sign-ups surpassed 3 million in the week of October 4, 2024, according to GamesBeat. That is a historical sign-up milestone, not a count of active players. Immutable’s current Passport page displays 6M+ verified users, but the company does not provide enough detail there to equate that figure with the earlier sign-up total.
What is Immutable Passport?
Immutable describes Passport as a wallet and identity service for games and marketplaces in its ecosystem. Players can create an account and access wallet functions using email or social authentication, according to the Passport product page. Immutable’s January 2023 launch announcement described passwordless sign-in and automated wallet creation, and said Immutable did not take custody of users’ private keys. Those are the company’s descriptions, not findings from an independent security audit.

Immutable President and Co-Founder Robbie Ferguson framed the product’s goal at launch: “For web3 gaming to reach a billion players, onboarding must be invisible, secure, and work across any game – mobile, console or desktop.” This was Ferguson’s view of the product’s ambition, not an independently established outcome.

What does the 3 million milestone mean?
GamesBeat reported on October 4, 2024, that Passport sign-ups had passed 3 million that week. The outlet also reported a 2,500% increase since launch in early 2024 and said sign-ups had doubled in the preceding two months. The source does not provide an independent audit or specify the counting method, whether repeat accounts were excluded, or an activity threshold.
#1 Best Overall
- BUILT-IN TRACKING, NO AIRTAG, NO APP, NO FEES - Find My is built right into the cover, so there's no separate AirTag to buy, hide, or replace. Pair it to your iPhone in under a minute (no app to download) and see your passport on the map through Apple's network of 2.3 billion+ devices. One-time purchase, no subscriptions.
- RFID BLOCKING KEEPS YOUR IDENTITY SAFE - Built-in RFID-blocking shielding stops thieves from skimming your passport chip and contactless cards while you move through crowded airports, trains, and stations. Your documents and your location stay yours alone.
- BUILT-IN SIM CARD SLOTS + EJECTOR PIN - Dedicated SIM card slots and a built-in SIM ejector pin let you swap to a local eSIM or travel SIM the moment you land, without digging through your bag or losing that tiny pin. Most passport covers can't do this.
- 3 YEARS OF BATTERY, WIRELESS RECHARGE - Forget swapping coin batteries. The rechargeable battery runs up to 36 months per charge and tops up in about 4 hours on any Qi or MagSafe pad. Check the exact battery level anytime right inside the Find My app.
- SOUND ALERT, LOST MODE & LEFT-BEHIND ALERTS - Misplaced it at security or a hotel desk? Tap Play Sound and the built-in buzzer rings out, even tucked inside a bag. Find My's Left-Behind Alerts warn you the moment you walk away without it, and Lost Mode flags it if someone else finds it.
As a result, the milestone should be read as a reported number of sign-ups. It does not establish that 3 million distinct people were playing games, that those accounts remained active, or that they had made on-chain transactions.
What number does Immutable show now?
As accessed on October 8, 2026, Immutable’s Passport page displays “6M+ verified users” and “1000+ connected apps.” The page does not state a publication date or define these metrics in the reviewed content. Because the 2024 figure is described as sign-ups while the current display says verified users, the figures should not be treated as directly comparable growth measurements. Neither number establishes active players.

How does the milestone fit the launch timeline?
In a December 19, 2023 announcement, Immutable said Passport was live in five games and marketplaces: Gods Unchained, Blocklete Golf, Bleacher Report Watch2Earn, TokenTrove, and AtomicHub. The announcement said those integrations represented a combined user base of over 500,000 people. That was the integrations’ combined user base, not Passport sign-ups, so it is not an earlier Passport total.
| Reported figure | Date and source | What it describes |
|---|---|---|
| Over 500,000 | December 19, 2023; Immutable via PR Newswire | Combined user base across five launch integrations, not Passport sign-ups. |
| More than 3 million sign-ups | Week of October 4, 2024; GamesBeat | Passport sign-ups reported by GamesBeat; counting methodology and independent audit are not stated. |
| 6M+ verified users; 1000+ connected apps | Current page accessed October 8, 2026; Immutable Passport page | Figures displayed by Immutable; page publication date and metric definitions are not stated. |
Are Passport sign-ups active players?
The available figures do not answer that question. A sign-up total does not show how many accounts are currently used, and the current “verified users” display does not provide an activity definition. Without a published methodology linking the measures, neither figure can be used as an active-player count or a verified count of unique people playing Immutable games.
