The ranking was a launch-period snapshot, not a current chart position. The game is free-to-play, though Steam also flags in-app purchases, and it remains in development.
Why CPM 2 drew attention on Steam
Notebookcheck reported on October 9, 2026, that Car Parking Multiplayer 2 had reached the top five of Steam’s “Trending Free” chart following its October 8 Early Access launch. The same report cited around 200 Steam reviews, with 88% positive, at that time. Those are dated launch-period figures, not current chart or review statistics. Notebookcheck’s October 9 report quoted an unnamed player review calling the game “Impressive that this game is free.”

Steam’s listing showed 1,083 user reviews and 79% positive on October 11, 2026. That later snapshot should not be read as a direct like-for-like measure of the earlier report: review counts and ratings change as players submit feedback. What kind of racing game is it?
Despite the “Car Parking” name, Steam describes CPM 2 as an open-world racing sandbox. OGames lists 82 parking and driving challenges alongside several distinct ways to play:

Steam lists keyboard and mouse, gamepad, and racing-wheel support with Force Feedback. These are features stated on the store page, not independently tested findings.
Is CPM 2 free, and does it have in-game purchases?
Steam classifies CPM 2 as Free To Play. In its Early Access disclosure, OGames says the game will remain free during Early Access and after full release. Steam also identifies in-app purchases, so “free” describes the purchase price—not a promise that every in-game item or option is free.

What Early Access means for players
CPM 2 is unfinished and may change. OGames says it chose Early Access to involve the PC community in testing optimization across different computer configurations, gathering feedback on controls and the interface, and finding bugs. The developer estimates about one to two years in Early Access while it works toward a stable, polished PC version; that is an estimate, not a fixed release date.
What the developer says is still planned
- Custom keybinding settings.
- Interface adjustments and bug fixes.
- Keeping PC content in parity with the mobile version.
Steam’s description says the current version already includes almost all mobile-version content, including levels, single-player, several racing modes, cars with tuning, and locations. The remaining work listed by OGames is a roadmap, not a guarantee that every item will arrive on a particular schedule.
