For Season 2, Bulkhead announced changes to Lonestar’s visibility and spawn positions, plus temporary cash and XP bonuses designed to encourage players to choose the faction. The developer describes those incentives as an experiment; the announcement does not show whether they worked.
How large is Lonestar’s reported win-rate gap?
Bulkhead’s official preview confirms that one faction had a notably lower win rate, but does not publish the exact figures. In an October 9, 2026 report, Rob Keyes attributed a 10% win rate for Blue/Lonestar, 40% for Red and 50% for Green to the developers. The same report said Lonestar’s rate had previously been around 20%. The coverage does not state the match count, measurement period, treatment of draws or calculation method, so these figures should be read as reported developer numbers, not independently audited statistics.

The split points to a substantial imbalance, but it does not by itself explain why Lonestar was losing. Bulkhead’s preview identifies several factors it had been monitoring rather than assigning a measured share of the gap to each one.
What does Bulkhead say was putting players off Blue?
The Season 2 preview names uniform visibility, some spawn positions and player sentiment as concerns. Bulkhead said that, after reviewing its data, negative sentiment around Blue was the largest factor driving players not to choose the faction. That is the developer’s explanation of player choice; the preview does not quantify how much sentiment, visibility or spawn placement contributed to match outcomes.

What is changing for Lonestar in Season 2?
Bulkhead’s October 9 preview combines map and appearance adjustments with temporary economic incentives. The first group changes how Lonestar appears and where factions begin on one map; the second gives Lonestar-specific rewards for the season.
Map and visibility adjustments
- Bakurani spawns: Faction spawn positions are being moved on Bakurani. The preview does not specify the new locations or quantify the expected balance effect.
- Uniforms: Lonestar uniforms will be desaturated, addressing the visibility concern Bulkhead identified.
Season-only Lonestar incentives
For Season 2 only, Lonestar will receive cash and XP win bonuses and multipliers. Bulkhead presents these as an incentive to get more players to choose the faction, and as a way to observe whether rewards affect both its win rate and how players perceive it. The preview does not state the bonus amounts or show post-launch results.

How does the losing-team vendor discount work?
A separate vendor offer is available to any faction, not just Lonestar: the losing team receives a 20% discount if it is at least 40 points behind the team in second place. This is distinct from the Lonestar-only cash and XP bonuses. Bulkhead’s preview does not describe the offer as a Lonestar balance measure alone; eligibility depends on a team’s position in the match.
What else did the Season 2 preview announce?
Beyond faction-related adjustments, Bulkhead said the update would include combat changes to weapon damage, recoil and suppression, as well as work on squad coordination, vehicles, controller responsiveness, progression, performance, bugs and server stability. The October 9 preview described full balance patch notes as forthcoming, so it is not a complete specification of those changes.

Have the changes fixed Blue’s win rate?
There is no outcome evidence in the cited announcements and coverage. Bulkhead called the Season 2 incentives a “social experiment” intended to test whether they affect Lonestar’s win rate and perception over time. A preview establishes the plan, not its success; it also does not isolate the effect of each change. A scheduled launch date is not evidence that the update shipped as planned or that the balance changed.
