Indiana Jones and the Great Circle already has DLSS 4 support: Bethesda released the update on February 20, 2025, one week after NVIDIA announced it. The update brought several distinct rendering options, but Multi Frame Generation—the feature most closely tied to DLSS 4—requires supported NVIDIA hardware, which NVIDIA identifies as GeForce RTX 50 Series for this game.
When did DLSS 4 come to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle?
NVIDIA announced on February 13, 2025, that DLSS 4 support was coming the following week. Bethesda then released Update 3 on February 20, 2025. The “next week” wording is therefore historical, not a description of an upcoming update. NVIDIA’s announcement and Bethesda’s Update 3 notes document the announcement and release.

What DLSS 4 features does Update 3 include?
Bethesda describes DLSS 4 as a suite of rendering technologies. Update 3 added or updated several separate options; they do not all have the same hardware requirement or purpose.

| Feature | What it does in this update | Hardware note |
|---|---|---|
| Multi Frame Generation | Generates additional frames; Update 3 offers 3x and 4x modes. | NVIDIA identifies GeForce RTX 50 Series as the generation for Multi Frame Generation in this game. Bethesda describes the option as available on supported NVIDIA hardware. |
| Ray Reconstruction | Bethesda says it increases clarity and stability in ray-traced images. | Update 3 includes it as a DLSS 4 feature; Bethesda’s notes do not specify a complete GPU compatibility list. |
| DLSS Super Resolution | Upscales the image, with an updated transformer-based model intended to improve upscaled image quality. | Do not assume the RTX 50 Series restriction for Multi Frame Generation applies to this separate option. |
| DLAA | Uses the updated transformer-based model to improve image quality at native resolution. | Do not assume the RTX 50 Series restriction for Multi Frame Generation applies to this separate option. |
Bethesda summarizes the patch as bringing “support for NVIDIA DLSS 4: a suite of rendering technologies that boosts framerates, increases performance, and improves image quality!” Bethesda’s Update 3 page also gives the feature descriptions above.

What GPU do you need for Multi Frame Generation?
For DLSS Multi Frame Generation in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, NVIDIA points to GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs. That qualification applies to Multi Frame Generation; it should not be stretched to every feature described as DLSS 4. Update 3 also updated DLAA and Super Resolution, and Bethesda’s notes do not establish a full compatibility matrix for every GPU, driver, and game version.
The update was not entirely NVIDIA-focused. It added Path Tracing support for qualifying AMD and Intel graphics cards, as well as AMD FSR 3.1 and Intel XeSS 1.4. Players with Path Tracing enabled also gained ray-traced shadows from local lights, with the prior sun-only ray-traced-shadow setting still available. Bethesda’s patch notes detail those additions.

What performance did NVIDIA report?
NVIDIA said that enabling Multi Frame Generation together with DLSS Super Resolution and Ray Reconstruction produced an average 4X performance multiplier on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs at 4K with full ray tracing enabled. It also reported that an RTX 5090 exceeded 260 frames per second at 4K. These are NVIDIA’s own figures for its stated setup, not independent test results or a guarantee for every system. Generated-frame output should not be treated as identical to native rendering performance. NVIDIA’s announcement contains the reported claims.

Bethesda’s later Update 8 notes say NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR frame generation can be used during cinematics, and list a fix for ghosting in some cinematics with HDR and NVIDIA DLSS. Those notes provide later compatibility and bug-fix context, but do not establish a complete current compatibility matrix across all hardware, drivers, or game versions. Bethesda’s Update 8 notes describe the changes.

Separately, NVIDIA said The Order of Giants launched in September 2025 with DLSS 4 support, and that an accompanying game update added RTX Hair to key characters in both the DLC and main game. NVIDIA describes RTX Hair as using new RTX 50 Series hardware capabilities; this was a later addition, not part of the February 2025 Update 3 announcement. NVIDIA’s announcement about The Order of Giants covers that release.
