At the altar in the Resonance Chamber, select the six translated tablet photos in this order: Heed, The Lord’s, Oath, Protect, The secret, Of the name. The completed phrase is “Heed the Lord’s oath, protect the secret of the name.”

Choose the translated photographs at the altar in phrase order, not in the order the tablets appear around the chamber. The correct sequence opens the passage so Indy can continue. GameSpot and Gameranx report the same solution: GameSpot’s Resonance Chamber solution and Gameranx’s guide.
How to find and photograph all six tablet clues
The chamber is in the Gizeh story arc, during “The Idol of Ra.” The Dream Stele clues lead to the concealed chamber. Several inscriptions are visible when you arrive, but the complete phrase depends on clues hidden beyond the main room and a repaired tablet.
- Photograph the visible tablets. Take pictures of the Adamic tablets in the main chamber. Follow the journal prompt to have Indy begin interpreting the symbols.
- Enter the crawlspace. The discoveries open a crawlspace on the chamber’s left side. Crawl through it into the dark corridor.
- Light the corridor braziers. Light the braziers or altars beside the tablets so the two additional symbols are visible, then photograph them.
- Repair the broken tablet. Retrieve the fragment at the end of the corridor, return to the chamber, and fit it into the broken tablet. Photograph the repaired inscription.
- Use all six photos at the altar. Select them in the phrase order above to open the passage.

If the altar sequence will not work
- Check that you have all six photographs, including the repaired tablet’s inscription.
- Choose the fragments to form the spoken phrase; do not copy the order of the tablets on the walls.
- Review Indy’s journal for discovered clues and hints. Bethesda says the journal tracks clues you uncover, including Indy’s own tips: Bethesda’s Tips & Tricks.
Why the puzzle asks you to explore
The altar is the final step, not the whole puzzle: the inscription is assembled from photographs gathered in the main chamber, a hidden corridor and a repaired tablet. Bethesda describes the game’s puzzles as encouraging attention to detail and critical thinking. Design Director Jens Andersson said, “We’re doing puzzles that aren’t dumbed down – that require some actual thinking to solve.” He also noted that some puzzles are optional and reward players who seek out more mysteries: Bethesda’s puzzle-design feature.
