Infinity Legends (Palladium) is a Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge modpack built around quests, exploration, combat, bosses, superpowers, Infinity Stones, Ben 10 and Lantern-themed abilities, and Ad Astra space travel. To host it reliably, use the versioned server pack for the exact same release installed by every player. The documented setup uses Java 17, recommends about 8 GB of RAM, and normally exposes TCP port 25565.

The project metadata lists V6.1 as the latest release uploaded October 9, 2026. Older release pages document a 1.3 GB serverpack-5.6.zip and a 1.4 GB serverpack-5.4hotfix; these are examples of versioned distributions, not files to mix with a V6.1 client. Select one release, download its matching client and server files, and keep both sides synchronized.

What Infinity Legends (Palladium) includes
Infinity Legends (Palladium), created by BrenimDibre, targets players who want a progression-heavy adventure rather than a lightly modified survival world. Its official description highlights custom quests, exclusive progression, boss encounters, superpower systems, Infinity Stones, Ben 10 content, Lantern-themed abilities, and Ad Astra space exploration. Those systems add new dimensions, entities, recipes, abilities, and configuration data, which is why a normal vanilla server or an unrelated Forge installation is not sufficient.
CurseForge project metadata recorded 108,143 downloads when checked in 2026. That number is a project-wide download count, not a measure of active players or a guarantee that every listed release remains compatible with your installation.

Core compatibility facts
| Component | Required or documented value | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Minecraft | 1.20.1 | Install the 1.20.1 game version on every client and on the server. |
| Mod loader | Forge | The pack is not a Fabric, NeoForge, or vanilla pack. |
| Java | Java 17 | The documented hosting workflow uses a Java 17 runtime. |
| Latest project release | V6.1, uploaded October 9, 2026 | Use the V6.1 client and the V6.1 server pack if that is the release you choose. |
| Practical memory guidance | About 8 GB recommended by the hosting guide | This is a practical recommendation for that guide, not a universal developer minimum. |
| Typical game port | TCP 25565 | Allow this port through the host firewall and router unless you deliberately choose another port. |
Choose a release before downloading anything
Version discipline prevents most installation failures. Decide which release your group will play, then record the Minecraft version, Forge version, modpack release, and server-pack filename. Every player should install that same combination.
Current versus older server-pack pages
V6.1 is identified as the latest project release, but the documented server-pack pages include earlier files. The V5.6 page lists serverpack-5.6.zip, approximately 1.3 GB, uploaded October 1, 2026, for Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge. A V5.4 hotfix page lists serverpack-5.4hotfix, approximately 1.4 GB. These files are useful only when the clients also run V5.6 or V5.4 hotfix respectively. A V5.6 server cannot safely be paired with V6.1 clients merely because both use Minecraft 1.20.1.

Release-selection checklist
- Confirm the release number in the launcher or modpack profile.
- Open the same release page when downloading the dedicated server files.
- Check that the server archive identifies Minecraft 1.20.1 and Forge.
- Keep a copy of the archive and its release notes so you can restore the exact build later.
- Tell every player which release to install before they connect.
What you need for a self-hosted server
Self-hosting gives you direct control over the files, world saves, backups, ports, and Java options. It also makes you responsible for operating-system updates, Java and Forge configuration, network troubleshooting, and modpack upgrades.
Hardware and memory
The pack-specific hosting workflow recommends about 8 GB of RAM. Treat that as a sensible starting allocation for a small group, not as a guaranteed minimum or a promise that every world will remain smooth at that setting. Exploration, multiple dimensions, boss fights, chunk generation, and several simultaneous players can increase memory and CPU demand. Leave memory for the operating system and background services instead of assigning all physical RAM to Java.
| Resource | Planning guidance | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| RAM | Start around 8 GB for the documented workflow; increase only after observing usage and lag. | Mod loading, world generation, dimensions, and entities can create large temporary workloads. |
| CPU | Use a modern, sustained-performance processor; prioritize per-core performance for the main server thread. | Tick processing and chunk generation can bottleneck even when unused RAM remains. |
| Storage | Reserve space for the roughly gigabyte-sized server archive, extracted files, logs, backups, and world growth. | Deleting the archive or old backups during an incident makes recovery harder. |
| Network | Use a stable connection and permit TCP 25565, or document your alternate port. | Players must be able to reach the host from outside your local network. |
Software prerequisites
- A supported operating system with permission to create and execute files.
- Java 17 installed for the server process. Verify it with
java -version; the output should identify a Java 17 runtime. - The exact Minecraft and Forge versions required by the selected pack release.
- Enough free disk space for extraction, generated dimensions, logs, and at least one backup.
- Router and firewall access if friends will connect over the internet.
Download the correct server pack
Use the dedicated server archive published for the selected release, not the client archive. The server pack is assembled for server use and normally contains the mod JAR files, configuration files, and a supplied start script.

- Open the modpack’s CurseForge project and select the release your group will use.
- Locate that release’s versioned server-pack download. Confirm the filename and Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge target.
- Download the complete archive. Large files such as the documented 1.3 GB V5.6 package may take time and need reliable storage.
- Save the archive outside your live server directory until you have confirmed its release number.
- Install the matching client release through your normal launcher and have one player test it before inviting the whole group.
Do not rename a server archive in a way that hides its version, and do not merge files from two releases. Configuration changes, mod updates, and hotfixes are distributed as a matched set.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteInstall an Infinity Legends dedicated server
The following procedure follows the documented Forge 1.20.1 workflow while leaving the supplied script and configuration names intact, because those names can change between releases.
Step 1: Create a clean server directory
Create a dedicated directory such as InfinityLegends-V6.1-server on a drive with sufficient space. Keep the directory separate from your client installation and from other modpacks. A clean directory prevents old JARs and configuration files from being loaded accidentally.
Step 2: Extract the matching archive
Extract the complete server pack into that directory. Preserve the directory structure. You should see the supplied mod files, configuration folders, and a start script. If extraction produces another nested archive instead of usable files, extract that inner archive as well rather than starting the ZIP itself.
Step 3: Check Java 17
Open a terminal or command prompt in the server directory and run java -version. If the command is missing or reports another major version, install or select Java 17 before continuing. Multiple Java installations are common; make sure the script resolves to Java 17 rather than an older system default.

Step 4: Review the supplied start script
Read the script before executing it. Confirm that it points to the included Forge server files and note any memory arguments. Do not replace the script with a generic vanilla command: Forge needs the files and arguments shipped with the pack. If you adjust memory, change only the relevant Java options and keep a copy of the original script.
Step 5: Accept the EULA
Run the supplied start script once. The first launch may stop after generating an EULA file. Open that file, read the Minecraft EULA, and change the acceptance setting only if you agree to its terms. Start the script again after saving the file. The server should then create its world, configuration, and log directories.
Step 6: Wait for a completed startup
Allow the first launch to finish without closing the window. Initial mod loading and world generation can take substantially longer than later restarts. Look for a normal “server started” state in the console rather than assuming that a window that remains open is ready. Stop the server using its console stop command so world data is flushed cleanly.
Step 7: Test locally
Start the server again and connect from the same machine or local network with a client running the identical Minecraft, Forge, and modpack release. Test movement, a small block change, and a clean disconnect. Shut down normally and verify that the world timestamp and log update before opening the server to internet traffic.
Make the server reachable by friends
Allow the game port
The documented workflow uses TCP port 25565. Permit that port in the host operating system’s firewall and, when the host is behind a home router, forward TCP 25565 to the server computer’s local address. If you choose another port, configure the server, firewall, router, and player connection information consistently.

Give players the right address
Players on the same local network can usually connect using the server computer’s private address. Players elsewhere need the public address supplied by your internet connection and the selected port. Do not post a private address as though it were an internet address, and avoid exposing administrative files or remote-desktop services just to make the game reachable.
Test from outside your network
Have a friend test the connection from a different network, such as a mobile hotspot. A local test can succeed even when router forwarding or an internet provider’s inbound filtering blocks outside players. If the external test fails, check the firewall rule, forwarding target, server port, and whether the server is actually running before changing mods.
Client connection requirements
Every connecting player must use the same Minecraft 1.20.1 base version, Forge release, Infinity Legends release, and required mod files as the server. A player with a newer client may receive a missing-mod or channel-mismatch error even if the launcher appears to load successfully.

- Ask players to remove duplicate profiles and old copies that could be selected accidentally.
- Do not let one player copy individual JARs from a different release into the active profile.
- When the server is updated, update every client before attempting to join.
Performance, crashes, and lag
Recent release notes describe fixes for server crashes and lag, repeated texture loading that could lead to crashes, artifact problems, and additional performance-mod changes. That history makes version alignment the first troubleshooting step. Updating both client and server to the same current release is safer than immediately deleting mods or adding arbitrary JVM flags.
Use this troubleshooting order
- Record the exact client release, server release, Minecraft version, Forge version, Java version, player count, and the time of the failure.
- Compare the client and server files. If they differ, install the matching release on both sides before testing again.
- Read the latest server log and crash report for the first error, not only the final shutdown message.
- Restart after a clean stop and test with one player in the main world before adding dimensions, bosses, or heavy exploration.
- Check memory usage and CPU load. If the machine is paging or the main thread is saturated, reduce concurrent activity or move to stronger hardware rather than repeatedly restarting.
- Only after confirming a clean, matched installation should you evaluate Java arguments or documented configuration changes.
| Symptom | Likely area to check | Safe first action |
|---|---|---|
| Server refuses to start after an update | Mixed release files, wrong Forge version, or wrong Java version | Restore a clean directory from the matching server pack and verify Java 17. |
| Client reports missing or mismatched mods | Client and server releases do not match | Install the exact same pack release on the client and server; do not copy random JARs. |
| Crash while loading textures | Known texture-loading and performance issues addressed in later releases | Update both sides to the same current release and retest before changing graphics or removing files. |
| Severe lag while exploring | Chunk generation, dimensions, CPU saturation, or insufficient memory headroom | Check CPU and RAM usage, limit simultaneous exploration, and verify the practical memory allocation. |
| Players cannot connect from outside | Firewall, router forwarding, incorrect port, or server not listening | Test locally, then verify TCP 25565 (or your documented alternate port) end to end. |
| Visual artifacts or broken content | Damaged files, stale configuration, or an old release | Back up the world, reinstall the matching server pack, and compare the release notes. |
Why removing mods is risky
The pack’s progression, quests, recipes, abilities, dimensions, and saved entities can depend on specific mods and configuration files. Removing a required mod from only the server or only the client can create connection errors or make existing world data unsafe to load. Treat the server pack as a maintained distribution; make changes only when the release documentation explicitly supports them and keep a restorable backup.

Backups and safe updates
Back up the world before installing any update, changing configuration, or experimenting with performance settings. A useful backup includes the world directories, configuration files, scripts, and a note identifying the pack release and Java version. Store at least one copy outside the live server directory so a failed update cannot overwrite both copies.
Update procedure
- Announce maintenance and stop the server normally from its console.
- Copy the complete world and configuration data to a dated backup location.
- Download the new release’s client and matching server pack.
- Extract the new server pack into a new directory instead of overwriting the old one.
- Review release notes for crash, lag, texture, artifact, and performance-mod changes.
- Move only the documented persistent data, such as the world, into the new installation. Keep the old directory untouched until testing is complete.
- Start the new server with Java 17, confirm a clean startup, and connect with one updated client.
- Test a known area, an inventory, a quest, and any dimensions your group uses.
- Update the remaining clients, then reopen the server to the group.
If the new build fails, stop it, restore the previous directory and backup, and document the error before trying again. Never use an untested update as the only copy of an established world.
Self-hosting or managed Infinity Legends hosting?
A managed host can remove much of the operating-system, networking, and panel administration. FadeHost documents pack-specific installation, and CreeperHost advertises CurseForge setup for Infinity Legends (Palladium). Provider support, pricing, resource tiers, locations, and backup policies can change, so verify those details for the exact release before paying.
| Decision factor | Self-hosted server | Managed host |
|---|---|---|
| Setup effort | You install Java, extract Forge files, accept the EULA, configure the firewall, and forward the port. | The provider usually supplies a control panel and an installation workflow, but you still choose and verify the pack release. |
| File and JVM control | Full access to scripts, configs, logs, backups, and Java arguments. | Control depends on the plan and panel; confirm file-manager and JVM access before purchase. |
| Networking | You handle router forwarding, firewall rules, public address changes, and connectivity tests. | The provider handles the public endpoint; you still need the correct address and port for players. |
| Backups | You design, schedule, store, and test backups. | Check whether backups are automatic, how many are retained, where they are stored, and whether restoration is self-service. |
| Performance resources | Limited by your own CPU, RAM, storage, and internet connection. | Compare allocated RAM, CPU share, storage, and location rather than relying on a generic plan name. |
| Updates | You download and test each matched client/server release. | A panel may simplify installation, but confirm how it handles pack updates and world backups. |
| Total cost | Uses existing hardware and electricity, with your time as the main operational cost. | Requires a recurring fee; verify current pricing, taxes, resource limits, and cancellation terms. |
Questions to ask a managed provider
- Does the panel support the exact Infinity Legends release you intend to run, rather than only a similarly named pack?
- Can you upload the official versioned server pack if the panel’s catalog lags behind a new release?
- How much RAM and CPU are dedicated to the instance, and are there player or dimension limits?
- Are backups scheduled automatically, and can you download or restore them without opening a support ticket?
- Where are the available server locations, and what network or port controls are exposed?
- Can you access logs, configuration files, and the supplied start settings?
Gameplay systems worth planning for
The pack’s combination of quests, exclusive progression, boss fights, superpowers, Infinity Stones, Ben 10 content, Lantern abilities, and Ad Astra exploration means a server group should agree on progression expectations before opening the world. Decide whether players will advance together, whether boss encounters are communal events, and how you will handle valuable ability or stone items if several players want the same path.
Exploration also affects administration. New dimensions and distant areas increase world size and storage use. Ask players to avoid generating huge regions unnecessarily during the first test, and make a backup before a group expedition into a new dimension. If lag appears only during exploration, compare it with a stationary test in an already generated area to distinguish ongoing server load from chunk-generation spikes.
