Square Enix’s Tokyo headquarters was not presented as a public attraction in GamesBeat’s 2015 visit. The report offered a brief look at the company’s guarded Shinjuku office, then took readers to two fan-facing spots: Artnia, a Square Enix goods store and cafe, and Luida’s Bar, a Dragon Quest-themed venue in Roppongi. Those descriptions capture what one visit found in 2015; they do not confirm that the venues, access arrangements or offerings remain the same today.
What GamesBeat saw at Square Enix’s Shinjuku headquarters
GamesBeat’s account, published March 26, 2015, placed Square Enix in Shinjuku Eastside Square, in Tokyo’s Shinjuku ward, southeast of the area’s main train and metro stations. The company occupied multiple floors in the office complex, which the report said was also home to other large companies.
The visible entrance was a white-and-glass lobby opposite coffee shops accessible to the public. A security staffer stood outside a black-glass entrance; beyond it were reception and the office floors. GamesBeat characterized its access as a quick peek, not a tour of the workplace. The account does not document an official public tour program or establish a current visitor-access policy.
Artnia: merchandise and themed cafe
On the office complex grounds, GamesBeat visited Artnia, which it described as Square Enix’s official goods store and cafe. The report pictured a distinctive white, egg-shaped building and described merchandise categories that included franchise toys, soundtracks, clothing and jewelry.

The cafe’s reported menu drew on Square Enix games: examples included Dragon Quest Slime-shaped pancakes and pancakes decorated with Final Fantasy Chocobo art, along with themed drinks and food. GamesBeat estimated that the cafe had “only about eight” seats. That number and the merchandise and menu details are observations from the 2015 visit, not confirmation of current seating, stock or menu.
Luida’s Bar: a Dragon Quest-themed stop in Roppongi
The final stop in GamesBeat’s report was Luida’s Bar in Tokyo’s Roppongi district, described as a cafe and bar dedicated to Dragon Quest. The account mentioned themed food and drinks, memorabilia and a paid karaoke room. It does not provide enough current information to plan a visit or confirm that the venue or these features are still available.

What this glimpse does—and doesn’t—tell visitors
The three stops served different purposes in the 2015 account: the headquarters offered an exterior and lobby glimpse; Artnia combined reported Square Enix merchandise with a cafe; and Luida’s Bar centered on Dragon Quest-themed dining and karaoke. GamesBeat’s article is a historical visual report, not a present-day visitor guide. It does not establish current opening hours, venue status, access rules or product availability, so check directly with the relevant venue before making plans.
