Driver 32.0.101.6460 Non-WHQL, released alongside 32.0.101.6259 Non-WHQL, added Intel “Game On” support for the PC version and claimed up to 12.8% higher average FPS on Arc B-series graphics at 1080p High.
Intel’s current Windows package is now 32.0.101.8864, dated July 20, 2026. Owners should install the current supported driver rather than search for the archived 6460 package, but the 12.8% figure should be understood as Intel’s original, specific benchmark claim—not a guarantee for every Arc GPU or scene.

What Intel actually released
The change was a graphics-driver optimization, not a Final Fantasy VII Rebirth game patch. Intel’s January 23, 2025 release notes added “Game On” support for FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH under driver versions 32.0.101.6460 Non-WHQL and 32.0.101.6259 Non-WHQL.
The release notes list support across Intel Arc B-series graphics, Arc A-series graphics and Intel Core Ultra processors with built-in Arc graphics. However, the quantified performance results apply to specific hardware classes and settings.

Intel’s claimed performance gains
| Hardware | API | Settings | Compared with | Intel’s claimed result |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Intel Arc B-series | DirectX 12 | 1080p, High | Driver 31.0.101.6257 | Up to 12.8% higher average FPS |
| Intel Arc B-series | DirectX 12 | 1440p, High | Driver 31.0.101.6257 | Up to 11.6% higher average FPS |
| Core Ultra Series 2 with built-in Arc graphics | DirectX 12 | 1080p, Medium | Driver 31.0.101.6458 | Up to 9.0% higher average FPS |
These are Intel’s own benchmark results. “Up to” identifies the best result from Intel’s test configuration; it does not mean every scene, system or Arc model will gain the same percentage. The release-note figures also describe average FPS only. They do not establish an improvement in 1% lows, frame pacing, traversal stutter, shader-compilation pauses or image quality.
Intel’s published figures do not provide enough detail to reproduce the entire test, including the exact graphics-card model, processor, memory configuration, game version, driver settings and test sequence. No independent result in the supplied evidence verifies those exact percentages.
Which Intel hardware benefits?
Arc B-series graphics
The largest figures—12.8% at 1080p High and 11.6% at 1440p High—are explicitly identified for Intel Arc B-series graphics. An Arc B-series owner can reasonably treat the January driver as the first documented release containing the optimization, but the percentage remains a best-case claim tied to Intel’s comparison.
Arc A-series graphics
Intel’s release notes include Game On support for Arc A-series graphics, but they do not assign the 12.8% result to every A-series card. An Arc A750 or A770 owner should not assume the B-series benchmark applies unchanged.

- Professional Intel Arc Pro B70 GPU: Built on the Intel Xe2-HPG architecture, it features 32 Xe cores and 256 XMX engines, designed to accelerate AI, rendering, and complex visualization workloads.
- Massive 32GB GDDR6 VRAM: Equipped with 32GB of high-speed GDDR6 memory on a 256-bit bus, running at 19 Gbps, which allows for handling large AI models and complex datasets locally.
- High-Performance Engine Clock: Delivers an engine clock of 2540 MHz, providing the compute power needed for demanding professional applications and AI inference.
Core Ultra integrated Arc graphics
The separate claim—up to 9.0% higher average FPS at 1080p Medium—applies to Core Ultra Series 2 processors with built-in Intel Arc graphics. It should not be combined with or compared directly to the B-series results as though both used the same hardware or baseline driver.
Intel’s current package page covers Arc B-series, Arc A-series and Intel Core Ultra processors with built-in Arc graphics on Windows 10 22H2 and Windows 11. Laptop owners should also check their manufacturer’s support page: OEM drivers can contain platform-specific power-management, display and hybrid-graphics changes that the generic Intel package does not.
Is the improvement still in the current driver?
Yes, the January 2025 package has been superseded by newer Intel drivers. Intel’s official Arc Windows download page currently lists 32.0.101.8864, dated July 20, 2026. A current driver should be preferred over the old 6460 release.

The safe conclusion is that the current driver supersedes the release that first documented the optimization; it is not accurate to describe 12.8% as a newly added 2026 feature.

Later drivers may contain cumulative fixes and compatibility improvements, but availability of a newer package alone does not prove a new Rebirth benchmark result.
How to update safely
- Open Intel’s Intel Arc Graphics – Windows download page.
- Confirm that the package supports your Arc GPU or Core Ultra processor.
- Download the listed installer. Intel’s page identifies support for Windows 10 22H2 and Windows 11 and provides the release notes, installer details and checksum.
- Close Rebirth and other graphics-intensive applications.
- Run the installer and restart Windows if prompted.
- Check the installed driver version in Intel Graphics Software or Windows Device Manager.
- Retest Rebirth using the same resolution, preset, upscaling mode, frame cap and repeatable scene as before.
The download page lists an installer of approximately 877.4 MB. Checking its SHA-256 checksum is useful for administrators and advanced users, but is not necessary for a normal installation.

For other problems, use this order:
- Confirm the installed driver version and reboot after updating.
- Verify the game files through your PC storefront.
- Temporarily remove GPU overclocks and undervolts.
- Disable overlays, recording software and third-party injectors.
- Keep resolution, preset, upscaling, frame-generation and frame-cap settings consistent when comparing performance.
- If instability began immediately after the update, use Intel’s or your laptop manufacturer’s rollback path and report the issue.
On laptops, switch back to the OEM package if the generic driver causes display, power-management or hybrid-graphics problems. Intel notes that its generic driver may provide newer features and fixes, while the manufacturer’s driver may be better customized for that specific system.
Do not confuse the driver with game-side changes
Intel’s figures were measured using DirectX 12, but actual performance also depends on the game version, resolution, preset, upscaling method, shader-cache state, frame cap and frame-generation settings.
Square Enix has separately documented PC graphics-preset behavior affecting AMD Radeon and Intel Arc graphics, including how changing a preset can set anti-aliasing to the prescribed FSR option. That is a game-side change, not part of Intel’s January 2025 driver release. See Square Enix’s support information when checking those settings.

Verdict
Updating is sensible if your Arc system is using a driver older than January 2025, or if Rebirth has performance or compatibility problems. Intel’s documented improvement is real as a driver-release claim: up to 12.8% higher average FPS at 1080p High on Arc B-series hardware, up to 11.6% at 1440p High, and up to 9.0% on specified Core Ultra Series 2 integrated Arc graphics at 1080p Medium.
But those numbers are not universal, do not automatically apply to Arc A-series cards, and do not prove smoother frame pacing or a fix for every crash. In 2026, install Intel’s current 32.0.101.8864 package and treat the January 2025 release notes as the historical source of the Rebirth optimization.
