Yes. On March 26, 2025, inZOI producer and director Kjun announced that Denuvo would be removed from the game’s Early Access build. The developer said community feedback changed its view. Positive reactions appeared in the announcement’s Steam discussion, but those comments do not establish how the wider player base felt.

What did inZOI announce about Denuvo?

KRAFTON’s March 26, 2025 announcement said the team had decided to remove Denuvo from the Early Access build. Kjun, identified in the post as inZOI’s producer and director, wrote: “To address the most important point: we have decided to remove Denuvo from the Early Access build of inZOI.”

The scope matters: the announcement addressed the Early Access build. It does not establish what DRM policy might apply to a later build.

Why did the developers change course?

The announcement said Denuvo was initially included to protect the game from illegal distribution. After reviewing community feedback, the team concluded the approach did not fit what players wanted. Kjun wrote: “However, after taking a closer look at community feedback, we quickly realized that this approach did not align with what our players wanted.”

Why was Denuvo in the Creative Studio demo?

The developer explained that Denuvo had been applied to the main development build, so it was also present in the inZOI: Creative Studio demo branch. Kjun apologized for not informing players about its use during the demo period.

What tradeoff did the developer acknowledge?

Kjun acknowledged that removing Denuvo increased the risk of the game being cracked and illegally distributed. The team also said it hoped removal would make the game more open and configurable, giving players room to shape experiences for others and supporting modding. Those were the developer’s expectations, not reported or measured outcomes.

Were players delighted—and did removal improve performance?

Some visible replies in the Steam discussion attached to the announcement praised the decision, and some commenters said it affected their interest in buying or playing. That supports saying that individual commenters welcomed the news; the discussion is self-selected and is not a representative survey or a reliable measure of overall player opinion.

The announcement reports no performance benchmarks or testing, so it does not show that removing Denuvo improved inZOI’s performance. Community expectations about performance are not evidence of a measured change.

What is known about inZOI’s current development?

The official inZOI Steam news page shows development continuing in 2026. An October 2, 2026 update discussed a planned October update and recent mod testing. That later development context does not change the scope of the March 2025 DRM announcement, which concerned the Early Access build.
