It suits players who want quick races, controller-friendly handling, and solo progression—not sim racers looking to use a wheel.
What is iRacing Arcade?
Developed by Original Fire Games and iRacing, and published by iRacing, iRacing Arcade is a standalone third-person arcade racing game. The PC version launched on Steam on March 3, 2026. The official FAQ lists PC, Xbox, and PlayStation versions, though availability and pricing can vary by storefront and region.
Despite its name and licensed motorsport content, this is not the main iRacing simulator. It has its own game modes and progression, does not require an iRacing subscription, and does not use the iRacing multiplayer service. Linking an iRacing account is optional and can provide an in-game promotional reward. The official FAQ describes the handling as accessible arcade driving rather than simulation physics.
How the racing and progression fit together
The central loop combines short races with building up a team and its Campus. Events earn in-game money, which players can invest in facilities, upgrades, customization, and new opportunities. The game also lets players hire drivers for events they would rather not race themselves. Steam’s description highlights resources, buildings that unlock boosts, cars, drivers, and team branding.

That structure gives the game a purpose beyond repeating races: each event can contribute to the next step in team progression. The trade-off is that this is a lighter management layer attached to an accessible racer, not a deep simulation career. The available descriptions establish the loop, but do not provide enough detail to assess the full breadth or long-term variety of its events.
Cars, tracks, and driving expectations
iRacing Arcade features stylized versions of officially licensed cars and tracks. Steam’s examples include the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup at Imola and GTP cars at Mexico City’s Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. The recognizable names and venues provide motorsport flavor, but they should not be mistaken for a promise of sim-like vehicle behavior: the game is designed around arcade accessibility.

The result is a racer aimed at quick, approachable driving rather than fine-grained setup work or wheel-based realism. That can be a strength for casual sessions, but players who want a broad simulation experience should look elsewhere; the available sources do not establish a comprehensive car or track count to judge its breadth against other racers.
Controls: use a gamepad, not a steering wheel
The official FAQ says standard game controllers are designed for iRacing Arcade and provide the best experience. Keyboard play is also supported. Steering wheels do not work and, according to the FAQ, will never be supported. A standard game controller is therefore the sensible setup choice; do not buy or connect a wheel expecting it to work.

Single-player, offline play, and multiplayer
The game is single-player-first. Its core single-player content can be played offline, while multiplayer and account linking require an internet connection. Steam lists online PvP as well as shared/split-screen PvP and shared/split-screen play.
For online races, the official FAQ describes private lobbies for up to 12 players, with AI able to fill unoccupied grid positions. Steam separately describes online races with up to 11 competitors and rotating weekly global time trials. These are game-specific modes, not access to the main iRacing service. Check the platform storefront’s current feature listing if local multiplayer is a deciding factor.

Platforms, price, and PC requirements
As checked in 2026, the official FAQ lists PC via Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation, with crossplay across all platforms, and gives a price of $24.99. Treat that as the FAQ’s listed price rather than a guaranteed price in every region or storefront; check the platform store before buying. Steam also offers a downloadable demo.

What the player reviews suggest
Steam’s review snapshot checked in 2026 showed 72% positive from 1,211 all-time user reviews, and 87% positive from 39 reviews in the preceding 30 days. Those are changing platform user-review aggregates, not critic scores; the recent figure also comes from a much smaller sample. They offer a snapshot of player sentiment, not a definitive verdict on quality.
Who should play iRacing Arcade?
- Consider it if you want quick arcade races, a controller-first setup, and a progression loop built around growing a team.
- Consider it for multiplayer if private online lobbies or local split-screen matter to you, but verify the exact mode availability on your platform before purchase.
- Skip it as a wheel user if steering-wheel support is essential; the official FAQ explicitly rules it out.
- Look elsewhere if you expect the main iRacing simulation, its multiplayer service, or realistic handling and deep simulation systems.
Verdict
iRacing Arcade has a clear appeal: it makes motorsport-flavored racing approachable and gives quick events a team-building purpose. The charm is in that accessible combination, not in sim credentials. Its appeal is also bounded by what it is not: a simulation, a wheel-compatible racer, or an extension of iRacing’s online service. If those trade-offs fit what you want, it is an inviting arcade racer; if you expected more depth or simulation, the title may feel like it needs more.
