There is no verified announcement that a fix is currently in the works for a Stellaris advisor-voice bug. The available reports describe two historical issues on different platforms: a PC selector problem in 2020, followed by a scrollbar change in patch 2.7.1, and a separate Console Edition issue in 2023, whose patch notes later said it was fixed.
What happened on PC in 2020?
In a May 3, 2020 Steam discussion, players asked why voices such as the Technocrat and Communist had disappeared after the Federations update. Some commenters clarified that certain voices still appeared during empire creation but could not be reached when changing the advisor in a running game. One player attributed the problem to a broken scrollbar, but that was a community interpretation, not an official diagnosis.
Paradox’s notes for the 2.7.1 update state: “Added a scrollbar to the advisor voices tab.” That confirms a change to the interface during the period; it does not explicitly connect the change to the Steam report or establish the status of current PC releases.

What was fixed on Console Edition?
A separate Console Edition issue was discussed in December 2023. In a community update, the developers’ community account listed missing advisor voices among issues being tracked. The subsequent Toxoids post-launch patch notes stated: “Fixed missing advisor voices”. This records a reported fix for that Console Edition issue at that time; it does not show that current console versions are affected, nor that the console issue shared a cause with the 2020 PC selector problem.

What to check if a voice is missing now
The historical reports do not establish a current remedy. Use these checks to narrow down what is happening before reporting it; they are troubleshooting steps, not confirmed fixes for the old issue.
- Record your platform and game version. Note whether you play on PC or Console Edition, and the version shown by the game or platform. The historical reports concern different platforms and dates.
- Check the selector carefully. If the voice appears during empire creation but not when changing advisors in-game, scroll through the entire advisor-voices list. The PC report described voices that were difficult to reach in that selector.
- Verify entitlement and enabled status. Some voice choices are associated with DLC, according to community guidance. Check the specific voice, your platform’s ownership record, and whether the content is enabled before considering a purchase. Do not assume that buying a pack will fix a selector problem.
- Test without mods if you use them. Compare the behavior with mods disabled, then note whether the issue changes. The cited reports do not establish mods as the cause.
- Report reproducible symptoms through the official support channel for your platform. Include your platform, game version, the advisor voice, where it is missing, whether it appears during empire creation, DLC status, and whether mods are enabled. Those details help distinguish an unavailable voice from one that is present but inaccessible in a menu.
Which DLC may include advisor voices?
A May 2025 Steam community reply associates some advisor choices with particular packs: alignment-based advisors with Synthetic Dawn; Soldier, Diplomat, and Technician with Humanoids; several corporate voices with Megacorp; and named species voices with their respective packs. The reply also says some choices relate to government type. This is community guidance, not authoritative entitlement documentation, so verify the specific voice and current rules for your platform before buying content.

The cited sources do not confirm one. They establish a PC interface change in the 2.7.1 era and a separate Console Edition fix reported in December 2023, but neither verifies the current status of a missing-voices problem on present builds. There is also no supported prevalence figure for how many players may be affected.
