No. As of October 7, 2026, Alan Wake 2 is not listed in the official Xbox Free Play Days announcement for the October 1–4 weekend. Xbox did offer a no-Game-Pass trial in 2025, but that promotion has ended.
Was Alan Wake 2 ever free on Xbox without Game Pass?
Yes. Xbox Wire announced a limited offer from January 30, 2025, at 12:01 a.m. Pacific through February 2, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific. All Xbox members could try the game during that window; Game Pass Ultimate, Standard, and Core membership was not required. It was a three-hour timed trial, not a free copy of the full game. Xbox Wire’s announcement describes the historical terms.

During that promotion, Xbox said players could find the game on its Xbox.com detail page or on console through the Xbox Store’s Subscriptions tab and Free Play Days collection. Those instructions applied to the 2025 event; they do not mean the trial is still available.
What was on Xbox Free Play Days for October 1–4, 2026?
The official Xbox Wire lineup named five games: Far Cry 6, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Skull and Bones, and The Crew Motorfest. Alan Wake 2 was not included. Xbox said Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential membership was not required for those titles. That event ended October 4, 2026.
