Assassin’s Creed Unity is more manageable than it was at launch, but the available evidence does not show that every bug was eliminated. Ubisoft’s patch notes document broad fixes for crashes, performance, lost progress, navigation, NPC behavior, and online play. A later PC Gamer playthrough still encountered a few problems. On PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, Ubisoft’s March 2026 patch 1.6 announcement adds 60 FPS support, with resolution targets that vary by console.
Did the patches fix Assassin’s Creed Unity?
They addressed a wide range of documented problems, but Ubisoft’s notes do not certify the game as bug-free or establish how often issues occur today. The early patch history also shows that fixes arrived in stages rather than resolving everything at once.

Ubisoft’s November 25, 2014 announcement said patch 3 included “over three hundred fixes.” Its list covered campaign and co-op crashes, frame-rate drops, navigation, cover and camera behavior, animation, AI and crowds, matchmaking, and host migration. On December 18, 2014, Ubisoft described patch 4 as focused on performance and the overall experience. The notes included fixes for crashes, lost progression, connectivity and matchmaking, mission blockers, collision and missing textures, as well as PC-specific stability and rendering problems. Patch 5, announced February 20, 2015, addressed additional reported issues, including a missing “Find Leon” objective and earned equipment or weapon rewards relocking. Ubisoft also listed PC performance, connectivity, and stability work. Taken together, the notes show a substantial repair effort—not proof that every defect was removed.
What bugs have players still reported?
In a later retrospective, PC Gamer’s author described a playthrough with some hovering NPCs, difficulty turning in a side quest involving guillotine pieces, and flickering white lines while using TXAA. The author said the game otherwise ran well for them. These are individual observations, not controlled testing or a measure of how commonly players encounter the same issues. There is no reliable current statistic in the cited sources for Unity’s remaining bug rate, the share of players affected, or the likelihood of completing the game without problems. It would be misleading to turn a few reported examples into a prediction about every player, platform, or PC configuration.
Does Unity run at 60 FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S?
Yes. Ubisoft’s patch 1.6 announcement, dated March 5, 2026, specifies 60 FPS support on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with these resolution targets:

These are the targets in Ubisoft’s announcement; they are not a claim that every version of the game received the update. What should PC players do if they encounter low FPS or crashes?
Start with Ubisoft’s general troubleshooting guidance for Assassin’s Creed Unity. If low frame rates or crashes persist, Ubisoft’s support guidance directs players to contact support and attach DxDiag and MSInfo reports. That is a diagnostic route, not a guaranteed fix. Which version should you choose?
The evidence supports comparing platform features rather than declaring one universally best version. If 60 FPS support on a current console is important, Ubisoft explicitly lists it for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with different resolution targets across those consoles. For PS4, Xbox One, or PC, the announcement identifies the original release but does not make the same 60 FPS claim. On PC, performance and stability can depend on the player’s actual hardware and configuration; the cited sources do not establish a single result for all systems.
