Its official platform is PS4, and PlayStation says it can also be played on PS5 through backward compatibility, with some PS4 features potentially absent.
Which platforms support Bloodborne?
PlayStation’s current US game listing identifies Bloodborne as a PS4 game, published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, and says it is playable on PS5. That PS5 note indicates compatibility with the PS4 game, not a separate native PS5 edition. PlayStation cautions that some PS4 features may be absent when played on PS5.

The official listing gives the release date as March 24, 2015. PlayStation’s launch announcement from that day described the game as available on shelves and through PlayStation Store, exclusively for PS4. FromSoftware’s official product catalogue identifies FromSoftware as the developer.
Can you play Bloodborne on Xbox through another service?
The official sources identify PS4 as the game’s platform and PS5 as playable through compatibility; they do not establish an Xbox port, Xbox subscription or cloud version, or compatibility-layer method. A future release is not ruled out by the original launch announcement, but no Xbox availability is established by these sources.

Where can you play it?
- PS4: This is the platform named on the official PlayStation listing. The original release was offered physically and through PlayStation Store.
- PS5: PlayStation says the PS4 game is playable on PS5, while warning that some PS4 features may be absent.
If buying a physical copy, check its regional compatibility, condition, and current availability with the seller. The official platform listing confirms PS4 support; it does not guarantee that a particular retailer currently has the game in stock.

Bloodborne is an action role-playing game set in Yharnam, a gothic city suffering from a spreading illness. PlayStation describes strategic combat with weapons such as guns and saw cleavers, as well as optional Chalice Dungeons that can be explored alone or with others. In the launch announcement, director Hidetaka Miyazaki described the illness as a “scourge of the beast” that transforms people into malformed beasts.
