No—the available evidence does not show the paid Crimson Desert base game being free to claim today. What is free is the Enhanced update for people who already own the game. Epic Games Store’s separate 20% discount ended on September 9, 2026.
What is free in Crimson Desert?
Pearl Abyss calls Enhanced a free upgrade for existing owners. The official Steam announcement says it is automatically included when owners update the game, so no separate promotional claim is required. Check your game library or platform store for the update.

Did the Epic Games Store free-download offer end?
Epic Games Store advertised a 20% discount on Crimson Desert from 00:00 UTC on August 25 through 14:50 UTC on September 9, 2026. That was a limited-time price reduction—not a free claim—and the advertised window has ended. See Epic’s offer announcement for its original terms.
Epic’s article also described a Kliff Outfit for Fortnite as a gift with purchase when buying Crimson Desert through Epic Games Store using the same Epic account used for Fortnite. The article does not establish that this offer is still available, so do not assume it can be claimed now.

Does the October 29 date mean the game will be free?
No. The October 29, 2026 date refers to the announced release of the Charting the Unknown DLC, not a free base-game promotion. The Steam announcement says the DLC was moved back two weeks to allow more development time for a polished and stable experience. It is a separate release update, not an announcement that the base game is free.

To receive the free Enhanced update, you must already own the base game. If you are considering buying it, confirm the supported platform and current price on that platform’s store; the expired Epic discount should not be treated as an active offer. Pearl Abyss reports that Crimson Desert sold more than six million copies in its first three months after launch, as reported in Epic Games Store’s article; that figure is attributed to Epic, not independently audited here.
