Dark Ties is included in Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties; it is not a separately sold story expansion based on SEGA’s product information. Optional DLC packs are separate add-ons, mainly for outfits, crew members, phone customization and music.
Is Dark Ties a paid story DLC?
No. SEGA presents Dark Ties as an included, separate story within Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, rather than a standalone paid expansion. The full title pairs the remake of Yakuza 3 with a new story starring Yoshitaka Mine.

In Yakuza Kiwami 3, Kazuma Kiryu returns to Okinawa and Tokyo in a remake of the 2009 game, with added scenes and side experiences and reworked combat. Dark Ties follows Mine, formerly a startup company head, as he enters the yakuza world and searches for bonds with others. SEGA’s product page and support overview describe the two parts.

What is sold separately as DLC?
SEGA’s DLC catalog lists optional add-ons, not another story campaign. The categories include Bad Boy Dragon crew members, character outfits, phone customization and music. The Deluxe Edition bonus categories include Legendary Lads and Gals, an outfit pack, Ryukyu Gal Gang customization, phone customization and a BGM CD set.
#1 Best Overall
- A LEGEND IS REBORN AND A NEW LEGACY BEGINS: Two men will walk different paths that converge to shake the very foundations of fate.
- Yakuza Kiwami 3: Continue the story of ex-yakuza Kazuma Kiryu as he fights to protect those he loves in an extreme remake of Yakuza 3 that evolves every aspect of the beloved game.
- Dark Ties: Experience the brand-new tale of Yoshitaka Mine from Yakuza 3 in an included separate game.
Some DLC products contain items also available in other bundles. The catalog says the base game and latest update are required for listed content; some items unlock only after reaching specified chapters or content. Compare each item and bundle on SEGA’s DLC catalog and the relevant store listing before buying, since a pack’s inclusion does not mean it adds a new story.
