Death Dealer is not a confirmed free-to-play full game. As of 13 October 2026, Psychotronic has released a free demo, while the Steam listing says the Windows game is planned for Early Access on 4 November 2026 and is not yet available. The developer plans a lower Early Access price followed by an increase at version 1.0, but no numerical price has been published.
Death Dealer’s current availability and price
The key distinction is between the playable demo and the paid release planned for Early Access. The demo announcement does not mean that the complete game has launched. Steam currently labels the full title as unavailable and gives 4 November 2026 as the planned Early Access date.

Because the developer has not published a dollar, pound or euro figure, any specific amount quoted elsewhere should be treated as speculation until the Steam page displays one. Regional storefront prices can also differ, so even an announced base price would not necessarily be the amount shown in every country.

What “free to play” means for this game
In gaming, “free to play” normally describes a complete product that costs nothing to download and is supported by optional purchases, a subscription or another ongoing monetization model. Death Dealer does not fit that confirmed definition at this stage. What is established is narrower: a free demo is playable, and the planned complete game is intended to be sold during Early Access.

The Early Access price is expected to be lower than the eventual 1.0 price. That is a pricing plan rather than a final published price, and it does not establish whether the demo will remain available after launch or whether the demo’s content will change. The Steam listing is the appropriate place to verify those details when the Early Access build goes live.
What the Death Dealer demo includes
Psychotronic’s 7 October 2026 community announcement says, “The Death Dealer demo is OUT NOW.” It identifies the principal sequence and the major features available for testing.
The card game and hunt
The demo begins with the card-game component and moves into a hunt. This is the foundation of the title’s multiplayer horror-party format: players make decisions in the card portion, then deal with the consequences during the hunt. The announcement presents these as connected parts of one loop rather than unrelated modes.

Weapons and pickups
Weapons and pickups are included in the demo. They give players equipment to use during the hunt and let a new player see how finding or selecting resources affects a run. The announcement does not provide a complete inventory or balance sheet, so the demo itself is the reliable source for the exact item pool.
Slot machines and Shotgun Time
Slot machines and a feature called Shotgun Time are also listed among the demo contents. These are in-game mechanics within the horror-party structure. Their presence in the demo lets players evaluate the pace and risk-reward decisions without waiting for the Early Access build.
Single-player tutorial
A single-player tutorial is included. That matters if you do not already have a group: you can learn the controls and the basic flow before joining online sessions. It also separates learning the rules from the pressure of coordinating with other players.

What is planned for Early Access
The developer says the Early Access build will contain the full core gameplay loop. In practical terms, the paid build is intended to provide the central card-game-to-hunt experience rather than a short technical test, while development continues around it.

How to try the demo
- Open the official Death Dealer page in the Steam client or Steam website.
- Look for the demo option on the game’s store page and select the button to install it.
- Choose a Windows installation drive with enough free space for the download and future updates.
- Launch the single-player tutorial first if you need to learn the card game, hunt sequence or controls.
- After the tutorial, use the online multiplayer options to play with other people, subject to the game’s connection requirements.
Store buttons and labels can change as the listing moves from demo status to Early Access. If the demo control disappears or the page changes around the planned launch, check the current Steam listing rather than assuming that the full game has become free.

Steam describes Death Dealer as a Windows PC game with online co-op for up to six players. Broadband internet is listed as a requirement, so this is not presented as an offline-only experience even though a single-player tutorial is available.

Do the cards and slot machines use real money?
The Steam description says, “No real money involved.” In context, that statement refers to the card and slot-machine mechanics shown in the game. They are described as in-game systems, not real-money gambling or a cash wagering feature. You should still read any updated store text if the monetization design changes during Early Access, but the current official description does not establish real-money purchases for those mechanics.
This statement should not be expanded into a claim that the entire product can never contain paid cosmetics or other purchases: the developer’s future content plan mentions character cosmetics, without specifying how they would be obtained. At present, the documented pricing information concerns buying the game during Early Access and the planned increase at version 1.0.
When should you play the demo, wait for Early Access or wait for 1.0?

The demo is the lowest-commitment way to see whether the card game, hunt, weapons and horror-party pacing appeal to you. The single-player tutorial makes it suitable for learning before you assemble a group. It also gives you a practical look at the controls and online setup before any purchase is required.

Early Access is aimed at players who want the complete core loop sooner and are comfortable with ongoing changes. The developer expects to add content, fix bugs, rebalance systems and polish the experience. A lower launch price is planned, but the amount is unknown, and the schedule can change.
Wait for version 1.0 if stability and the larger content set matter most
Waiting avoids the uncertainties of a long development period and lets you judge the game after planned additions and polish have landed. The trade-off is that the developer expects the price to increase at version 1.0, and no 1.0 date has been announced.
