A separate French console-market report put Black Ops 6 ahead in 2024. Those figures describe different markets and time periods, so they cannot be treated as a direct global head-to-head.
What do the worldwide sales figures show?
Bandai Namco said DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO surpassed three million units sold worldwide within 24 hours of its October 11, 2024 launch. The publisher later announced that the game had passed five million units sold worldwide since launch. That milestone was announced on February 4, 2025; it is not a current lifetime total for 2026. Bandai Namco’s announcement also describes it as the fastest-selling Dragon Ball console game to date.

These are strong indicators of launch momentum and overall commercial success. They do not establish a worldwide sales lead over Call of Duty: Black Ops 6: a comparable authoritative global lifetime unit total for that game is not available in the figures cited here.
How did the games compare in France in 2024?
SELL’s report on the 2024 French console ecosystem gives a narrower, like-for-like comparison within its reported market. Its all-console top-games table lists these figures:

These are SELL’s report-specific figures for France’s 2024 console market, not worldwide totals or publisher revenue. The report’s chart notes that Nintendo digital sales data are excluded. Within that stated scope, Black Ops 6 ranks ahead of Sparking! ZERO by both reported units and sales value. SELL’s 2025 report on the 2024 French market is the source for the comparison.
Why the figures do not settle a global contest
They measure different markets and periods
The five-million figure is a worldwide milestone accumulated since Sparking! ZERO launched. SELL’s comparison is limited to France during calendar year 2024. A national annual chart cannot establish which game sold more worldwide over its lifetime.

Sales are not the same as players or reach
Units sold, sales value, player counts, subscription access, and engagement are different measures. A game’s availability through a subscription service can broaden access without producing a directly comparable paid-unit count. Neither player reach nor cultural visibility can be inferred from the unit and revenue figures above.
The release and distribution contexts differ
Sparking! ZERO launched on October 11, 2024; Black Ops 6 followed on October 25. Bandai Namco lists Sparking! ZERO for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Activision lists Black Ops 6 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, and describes its Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies modes. The games also serve different tastes: Sparking! ZERO is an anime arena fighter, while Black Ops 6 combines a campaign with multiplayer and Zombies. Different genres and audiences can shape how players buy or access each game, so neither a national ranking nor a launch milestone captures the whole comparison.

A defensible comparison should use the same metric, territory, time window, platform coverage, and distribution basis for both games. For example, worldwide lifetime units should be compared with worldwide lifetime units from a compatible source—not with one title’s global milestone and the other’s annual ranking in France. Until matching global figures are available, the evidence supports a major Sparking! ZERO launch, but not a claim that it beat Black Ops 6 worldwide.
