Not as a verified current offer. The widely repeated claim that Fanatical is selling 17 Steam Deck-friendly games worth about $400 for $17 does not match the current evidence. Dated reports describe several different build-your-own bundles, with different game counts and prices. The only reliable way to confirm today’s deal is to open Fanatical’s live bundle page and check the checkout total, game list, Steam Deck status and regional restrictions.
Where the $17 claim came from
The headline appears to combine details from separate promotions. A September 2025 report described a 17-game Platinum Collection with a stated original-price value of $363.68 and a selectable price of $48.55. That is historical information, not proof of a live 2026 offer.

Two later reports describe different bundles. iTechGuides reported an October 2026 Platinum Collection with 14 Steam Deck-friendly games. Selecting all 14 reportedly cost $39.90 in the United States, compared with a combined original-price total of $174.86. PC Guide reported a September 2026 Retro Revival bundle with 19 Steam Deck-friendly selections—17 individual games plus one double-pack—for $26.98, against a reported original-value total of $324.32. Neither report supports the exact combination of 17 games, $400 in value and a $17 total.
What Fanatical’s storefront confirms
Fanatical’s latest-deals page, accessed October 16, 2026, listed 761 products. Of those, 757 were Steam products, 212 carried a Steam Deck Playable label and 202 carried a Steam Deck Verified label. The store says it offers games from more than 750 publishers. Its storefront also uses the wording “Official keys sold” and “Officially licensed games,” and reports more than 156 million official keys sold and more than 17,000 officially licensed games.

Those figures describe the store overall; they do not confirm a particular 17-game bundle or guarantee that every title in a promotion is Steam Deck Verified.
Reported bundles compared
| Promotion reported | Date of report | Selections | Reported price | Reported original-value baseline |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Platinum Collection | October 3, 2026 | 14 | $39.90 for all 14 in the United States | $174.86 |

| Platinum Collection | September 8, 2025 | 17 | $48.55 | $363.68 |
Prices, stock, regional terms and expiration dates can change. The original-value figures are the baselines reported for those promotions, not a promise of current Steam prices.

Build-your-own pricing changes the headline math
These promotions are generally build-your-own bundles. You select eligible games, and the price depends on how many you choose or which tier you reach. A headline that quotes the cost of a maximum selection can therefore be mistaken for a fixed-price pack. Before paying, add the titles you actually want and read the tier shown in the basket.
- Open the current Fanatical bundle page from the store’s deals section.
- Read the bundle’s selection rule: minimum number of games, maximum number, and any tiered pricing.
- Add each desired title and note the running total before checkout.
- Open every title’s Steam store information to check its Steam Deck status and publisher-provided requirements.
- Review the final currency, taxes, activation region and redemption deadline shown at checkout.
- Only then compare the total with the reported original-price value.
Steam Deck Verified is not the same as Playable
Steam’s compatibility labels have different implications. Verified indicates that Valve’s checks found the game meets its Deck criteria. Playable means the game can run but may require a manual adjustment, an on-screen keyboard, a community control layout or other intervention. The dated bundle reports include both labels, so “Steam Deck-friendly” should not be read as “all titles are Verified.” Check each game individually, especially if you want a console-like experience without configuration.

Which games appeared in the reports?
The September 2025 17-game report listed titles including DYSMANTLE, Rogue Loops, Border Pioneer, Stray Path, Disco Elysium – The Final Cut, PlateUp! and Paradise Killer. The September 2026 Retro Revival report gave examples such as Wild Guns Reloaded, Bloodless, Blood West, Caput Mortum, Driveloop: Survivors and Mika and The Witch’s Mountain. These are examples from dated selections, not a confirmed current contents list.
Regional activation and checkout risks
- Country restrictions: a key may activate only in specified territories. The store’s checkout page is the authority for your account region.
- Currency and tax: a reported United States price may not equal the amount charged elsewhere.
- Expiration and stock: bundle pages can close or change their eligible catalog without notice.
- Already-owned games: build-your-own bundles may still include titles you own; verify the final selection before purchase.
- Compatibility changes: Steam Deck labels and game updates can change after a bundle article is published.
Useful accessory for a Deck bundle
If the purchase becomes part of a living-room setup, a USB-C docking station with HDMI output, power delivery and extra ports can connect the Deck to a monitor, television, keyboard or wired network. A dock is separate hardware and is not included with a digital Fanatical bundle; confirm that its power and display specifications match your setup.
Rank #4
- Valve is entering the gaming console marketplace with the new Steam Deck, a console geared towards PC gamers. The Steam Deck can be docked to a monitor, and used as a PC, or docked to a TV.
- Players can play a huge variety of games at any time with the comfort of a console and the freedom of a PC. Not anti-glare screen.
- Like the name suggests, the Steam Deck will include upgraded 1TB storage, and will include a carrying case. A micro SD slot will also enable expanded storage.
- Valve partnered with AMD to create a specialized APU optimized for handheld gaming, and Valve says the chip will deliver performance to run AAA gaming titles.
- The Steam Deck is outfitted with a 7-inch touchscreen, and two trackpads under the control sticks that allow gamers to operate games never designed outside of mouse and keyboard capabilities.
Bottom line
The exact “17 games worth $400 for $17” deal is not independently confirmed as a current Fanatical offer. The verified dated evidence points instead to a 14-game Platinum Collection at a reported $39.90, a 19-selection Retro Revival bundle at a reported $26.98, and a 17-game Platinum Collection from September 2025 at $48.55. Treat the headline as a likely blend of older and newer promotions, and trust the live checkout—not a reposted price—for the games, value, compatibility labels and amount you will actually receive.
