Flappy Bird’s iPhone comeback has not been confirmed. The Flappy Bird Foundation announced a revival in September 2024, but the later reported release was for Android through the Epic Games Store in April 2025. The original creator, Dong Nguyen, said he had nothing to do with the project. The available sources do not verify an official iPhone release.
Is Flappy Bird available on iPhone?
Current official iPhone availability is unresolved. The Foundation announced an iOS version as part of its revival plans, but its homepage still displays “COMING SOON” and refers to releases throughout 2025; that page does not confirm a launch. Epic’s general mobile-store page explains that its Android app is broadly available and iPhone access is limited to supported regions, but it does not identify a Flappy Bird iPhone listing. The Foundation’s homepage and Epic’s mobile-store page therefore do not establish that the game is currently available for iPhone.
App Store search results included similarly named games, some of which expressly say they are not connected to the Flappy Bird creators. Those results do not prove that an official Foundation version exists, nor do they establish that one is absent from every region or alternative iOS storefront. Check the developer identity and the listing’s own relationship disclaimer rather than assuming a game with the same name is official. Apple’s App Store
What is the revived Flappy Bird?
The original Flappy Bird was a side-scrolling mobile game released in 2013. Nguyen removed it from app stores in February 2014. The 2024 revival is a separate project announced by the Flappy Bird Foundation, not a confirmed return of Nguyen’s original app. The Verge’s report on the announcement

The Foundation described itself as a team of fans and said it acquired the Flappy Bird trademark from Gametech Holdings, LLC in August 2024. The Foundation’s account says Mobile Media Partners, Inc. registered the mark in 2018 and Gametech acquired it in 2021. That is the Foundation’s account of the rights chain, not independent confirmation that Nguyen participated in or endorsed the project. The Foundation’s Telegram channel
Why Nguyen’s role matters
Nguyen publicly distanced himself from the revival. TechCrunch reported that he said he had nothing to do with it and quoted him: “I did not sell anything.” He also wrote, “I also don’t support crypto.” The Foundation’s trademark claim should not be confused with Nguyen selling or approving the revival. What sparked the crypto controversy?
At announcement time, reporting found material on the Foundation’s website referencing Solana and Web3. That prompted questions about whether the revival would be tied to crypto. The Foundation later said the Android launch had “no Web3 elements,” according to GameSpot. These statements concern different moments: announcement-era promotional material and the features the Foundation attributed to the later Android release. They do not establish what an iPhone version, if released, would include. GameSpot’s report on the Android launch
