Yes—but Gigantic’s return was a new paid release, not the restoration of the original free-to-play service. Gigantic: Rampage Edition, developed by Abstraction Games and published by Arc Games, launched on April 9, 2024. It brings back the team-based hero combat with additional content and a single-purchase model.
What is Gigantic: Rampage Edition?
Gigantic is a 5v5 MOBA hero shooter. Players choose heroes with different abilities, coordinate with four teammates to control objectives, protect their team’s Guardian, and defeat the opposing Guardian. Rampage Edition preserves that core format while adding modes and content.

The re-release includes the returning Clash mode, faster Rush matches, and Custom matches. Arc Games described Rush as a more accessible way to play; Custom matches let players configure games. The launch materials listed 23 returning heroes plus two new characters, Roland and Kajir, as well as two new maps: Picaro Bay and Heaven’s Ward. The edition also includes hero loadouts, skins, and progression.
What changed from the original Gigantic?
The biggest difference is the business model: the original 2017 game was free-to-play, while Rampage Edition is a paid release. Abstraction Games describes the new edition as a single-purchase game with no microtransactions; its announcement says players can unlock content through gameplay or in-game currency.

Can you still play Gigantic online?
The original Gigantic is not the same service as Rampage Edition: Arc Games Support gives July 31, 2018, as the original game’s server shutdown date. That date says nothing about the newer edition’s servers.
Official store listings establish that Rampage Edition has been listed for sale, not that its matchmaking or servers are reliable and operational. The official sources cited here do not establish its online status on October 4, 2026. Check for a recent service-status update or confirmation from Arc Games before buying specifically to play online.
