No Switch 2 version of GTA VI has been announced. As of October 8, 2026, Rockstar’s official platform information lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a November 19, 2026 release date for those platforms. A March 2026 report revived a Switch 2 rumor, but Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick’s comment that Nintendo is “doing just fine” was not confirmation of a port.
Is GTA 6 coming to Switch 2?
There is no confirmed Switch 2 version in Rockstar’s platform information reviewed as of October 8, 2026. Rockstar’s customer-support page, last updated August 18, lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for Grand Theft Auto VI. Its August 27 Newswire post gives November 19, 2026 as the release date for those platforms. Rockstar’s platform and editions information and Newswire announcement do not list Nintendo Switch 2.

That is a snapshot of what Rockstar had announced by October 8, not proof that its platform list can never change. For now, treat the Switch 2 claim as a rumor, not a release plan.
What does the Switch 2 rumor claim?
Reports published March 23, 2026 attributed the claim to Reece “Kiwi Talkz” Reilly. He said an unnamed source had been claiming for months that GTA VI would come to Switch 2 day and date. The source was not identified in the reports, and Reilly reportedly said he personally doubted the claim. He also described a bet tied to Rockstar announcing a Switch 2 version by early May.

The rumor, the unidentified source, and the bet are not a Rockstar announcement. The reports do not establish that a Switch 2 version is in development or scheduled to launch alongside the other versions.
Did Take-Two’s CEO confirm a Switch 2 version?
No. Strauss Zelnick’s “doing just fine” remark was about Nintendo generally, in response to a discussion about Roblox and Nintendo. It did not name GTA VI or announce a platform. In the reported interview, Zelnick said: “Nintendo’s also doing just fine. Like it’s doing just fine. I don’t think you’re going to be having a benefit dinner for Nintendo anytime soon.” Gameranx’s report provides the quote and interview context.

Why mention the earlier GTA Trilogy Switch release?
Rockstar announced a physical Nintendo Switch release of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition in 2021. That is a separate game collection and does not confirm a GTA VI version for Switch 2. Rockstar’s announcement concerns the Trilogy release only.
