Yes. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga supports two-player local co-op, so you can play together on the same system. The official listings reviewed do not confirm a built-in online co-op mode; Steam’s Remote Play Together is a separate Steam feature, not proof of an in-game online lobby.
What kind of multiplayer does the game support?
The confirmed option is local co-op for two players. Xbox lists “Xbox local co-op (2-2),” PlayStation’s US PS5 page lists “1 – 2 players,” and Steam lists “Shared/Split Screen Co-op.” These descriptions support playing together locally, rather than a claim that players can join one another through an in-game online mode.

Steam also lists Remote Play Together. That is a Steam feature and should not be confused with native online multiplayer built into the game. The official Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam listings reviewed do not explicitly confirm an in-game online co-op mode.
Can you play with a friend on the same console or PC?
Yes. The store listings establish two-player local play, though they do not consistently explain the controller setup. Plan to use controllers compatible with your platform, and check the relevant store page or platform guidance for setup details. The sources do not establish a universal controller model requirement.

Those listings do not establish cross-play or cross-platform compatibility.
What is the game, and what does its co-op cover?
The game covers all nine Skywalker saga films. The LEGO Group’s launch announcement says players can choose which trilogy to begin with and describes exploration, character classes, unlockable characters, vehicles, and planets. It quotes Sean McEvoy, Head of LEGO Games at The LEGO Group, calling the game “a fun and accessible entry point to the Star Wars galaxy where kids and families can join forces and explore together.”
