Not as a current iOS release. Madden NFL 25 Mobile was a real iPhone and iPad game launched on August 27, 2013, and EA marketed it as free-to-play. In 2026, however, EA’s active mobile season is Madden NFL 27 Mobile. The separate, fuller Madden experience on Apple devices is Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition, available through Apple Arcade.
The short answer
The claim “Madden 25 for iOS is available now and free-to-play” combines an accurate historical fact with a misleading present-day implication.

- Historically: Madden NFL 25 Mobile launched for iPhone and iPad on August 27, 2013. EA described it as a free-to-play experience.
- Currently: EA’s live mobile game has advanced to Madden NFL 27 Mobile, whose new season launched on August 6, 2026.
- For a more traditional Madden experience: Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition is available through Apple Arcade, with Franchise and Quick Play modes.
So, if you search the App Store for “Madden 25,” do not assume you are downloading the unchanged 2013 game, its original rosters, or the 2024 console version.

EA announced Madden NFL 25 Mobile on August 27, 2013, for iPhone and iPad. Its design was built around mobile play rather than reproducing the complete console game. EA highlighted squad-building, Head-2-Head competition, and Solo Challenges.

That distinction matters. The mobile release was separate software from the Madden NFL 25 game for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It did not provide the console edition’s complete feature set, including its full Franchise and Connected Franchise experience. The 2024 console and PC game also called Madden NFL 25 is a different product from the 2013 mobile title.
What is available on iPhone and iPad now?
Madden NFL 27 Mobile
Madden NFL 27 Mobile is EA’s current free-to-download Madden mobile service. It follows the current Madden season and focuses on live-service content, roster building, events, and Ultimate Team-style progression. EA’s mobile materials also identify in-game purchases, including random items.
“Free-to-play” means you can download the game and begin playing without buying it outright. It does not mean that every item, upgrade, resource, or progression shortcut is free. Depending on the current version and events, monetization can include premium currency, packs, bundles, passes, or other optional purchases. Treat “free” as free to start, not as a promise of an entirely cost-free experience.

Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition is a separate Apple Arcade release. Apple says it includes Franchise and Quick Play, current NFL teams, dynamic player ratings, and controller support across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. Apple also says this edition has no ads or in-app purchases.

It is not Madden 25, and it is not permanently free. Apple Arcade costs $6.99 per month in the United States after any applicable trial. Apple lists a one-month free trial and says eligible purchasers of a new iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV may receive three months free, subject to the offer’s terms. Trials can renew automatically unless canceled.

Compatibility, regional availability, and device requirements can change. Check the live App Store listing before installing rather than relying on an old search result.
Can you still download the original Madden 25 Mobile?
Do not assume that the original 2013 build remains separately downloadable or that its old roster, events, progression system, and content are preserved. EA’s current pages promote Madden NFL 27 Mobile, while the Madden 25 announcement is an archived 2013 page.

How to identify the legitimate iOS app
- Use the current App Store listing linked from EA’s official Madden Mobile page where possible.
- Confirm that the developer is Electronic Arts.
- Check the current title, season branding, screenshots, update date, compatibility information, and in-app purchase disclosures.
- Read the listing carefully before accepting that it is the 2013 Madden 25 game or the console version.
- Avoid unofficial IPA files, “free full Madden” downloads, account sellers, and websites requesting your Apple ID password.
An old EA headline saying “available today” refers to August 27, 2013—not to a current Madden NFL 25 launch.
Which version should you choose?
- Choose Madden NFL 27 Mobile if you want free entry, current-season mobile events, and short-session squad building. Be prepared for live-service progression and optional purchases.
- Choose Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition if you want Franchise and Quick Play, prefer a version without ads or in-app purchases, and already use—or want—Apple Arcade.
- Choose a console or PC version if you specifically want the 2024 Madden NFL 25 game or its full console feature set. EA’s main Madden page separates those products from Madden NFL Mobile.
Neither iOS option should be described as the original Madden NFL 25 Mobile game with guaranteed 2013 rosters. The current mobile service follows the current Madden season, and the Arcade release is a separate product with its own modes and subscription model.

Does Madden Mobile include the console version’s Franchise mode?
Do not assume it does. The older Madden NFL 25 Mobile release was a separate mobile game centered on squad building, Head-2-Head, and Solo Challenges. Apple specifically identifies Franchise for the separate Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition.
Can I play Madden NFL 25 console on an iPhone?
The iOS mobile listing is not the same software as the console or PC Madden NFL 25 release. For current availability and compatibility, check the official EA product pages and the relevant platform listing.
