Episode Mode is the story-focused option. What do PS5 and PC players need for online play?

Confirm the total and included content on your platform’s store before buying. The launch announcement gives the edition contents and original MSRPs; the US PlayStation page reflects the dated storefront listing.
For a first purchase, compare the Standard Edition with the actual current price of the higher editions. The Year 1 pass matters if you want its four extra characters and stage; lobby items and cosmetics matter only if those extras appeal to you. Do not assume a sale price will remain available.

Is it a good fit for new fighting-game players?
The advertised quick inputs, chain combos, adjustable controls, Training Mode, Battle Guides, and Character Guides give newcomers several ways to approach the game. They are reasons to consider it if you want guided practice or less demanding input options. They do not settle how steep the learning curve feels in actual matches, so players who are unsure can start with offline Training and guides before committing to ranked play.
