Nintendo’s U.S. announcement described the bundle as available starting in late September 2026, while Nintendo Australia announced an October 29 release. The Associated Press has reported rising memory-chip and other component prices as pressures on Nintendo, but did not connect them to a stop in sales of this specific bundle.
What Nintendo has announced about the bundle
Nintendo of America announced on August 25, 2026, that the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle would be available in the United States starting in late September for a suggested retail price of $549.99. The bundle includes a Switch 2 system, a full digital download of Mario Kart World, and a 3-month (90-day) Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership. Nintendo described the offer as a $37.98 saving against the suggested retail prices of the included items when bought separately, while cautioning that actual savings may vary and supply is limited. What rising memory costs do—and do not—tell us
The Associated Press reported that rising memory-chip and other component prices were among the pressures on Nintendo in its coverage of the company’s first-quarter results, alongside U.S. tariffs and other business conditions. That is evidence of broader cost pressure, not evidence that Nintendo stopped selling this bundle or that memory prices caused a bundle-specific decision. Associated Press coverage
The official bundle announcements reviewed do not provide a production-stop date, bundle-specific inventory figures, or a direct explanation linking memory costs to this offer. A retailer listing disappearing or changing on its own would not establish a company-wide halt; the evidence here does not confirm such a halt.

How to assess the offer if you are buying
- Check your region: compare the announcement and retailer listings for the country where you intend to buy; the Australian announcement, for example, gives a date but no price.
- Compare what is included: the U.S. bundle’s $549.99 suggested price is $50 above the standard system’s $499.99 suggested price, and it adds a digital game and 90 days of online membership. Whether those extras are worth it depends on whether you want them.
- Account for format and membership: the U.S. offer includes a full download, not a physical copy of Mario Kart World, plus a 90-day Individual Membership.
- Verify the live listing: Nintendo says supply is limited and actual savings may vary, so check the retailer’s current price and stock rather than assuming an announced offer is available everywhere.
Switch 2 sales figures are not bundle figures
Nintendo Investor Relations reported cumulative worldwide sales of 23.68 million Switch 2 hardware units and 58.17 million software units as of June 30, 2026. These are platform-wide totals; they do not identify how many consoles came in the Mario Kart World bundle or indicate whether its production or sales have stopped. Nintendo Investor Relations
