When will the next classic game arrive?
Nintendo Support says its classic-game libraries will continue to grow, but gives no set schedule for new releases. That means there is no confirmed date or named game to report for a winter 2026 addition. Any specific game or release date would be speculation unless Nintendo makes a new announcement.
What the Virtual Boy library requires
- Membership: Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack is required to access the Virtual Boy collection.
- Hardware: Nintendo’s announcement describes two dedicated accessories: a Virtual Boy replica and a cardboard model. Its page lists regular prices of $99.99 and $24.99, respectively; these are prices shown in the September 2025 announcement, not confirmation of current price or availability. The page identifies the cardboard model for Nintendo Switch 2.
- Region: The announcement specified the United States and Canada; it does not establish availability in other regions.
For the current regional details, consult Nintendo’s Virtual Boy announcement and Nintendo UK’s classic-games overview.

Nintendo Support says an active membership is required for the classic libraries.
