No verified PlayStation or Rockstar announcement in the available material sets a hard deadline for GTA V fans before GTA 6. It does not establish that GTA V or GTA Online is leaving PlayStation, that access will end, or that players need to take any action. The headline’s claim remains unconfirmed.
Is GTA V leaving PlayStation?
The official PlayStation Blog’s Grand Theft Auto V archive documents PlayStation coverage of the games over time, including a March 4, 2022 post announcing that GTAV and GTA Online would come to PS5 on March 15, 2022, and a March 8, 2022 post about pre-loading them. The archive also lists a PlayStation Plus Game Catalog feature dated May 22, 2026. Those entries provide historical context; they do not announce that GTA V is being withdrawn or set an end date for access.

So, based on the verified information available here, there is no confirmed PlayStation deadline for GTA V. That is not proof that no separate notice exists: the claim does not identify a platform, service, game mode, region, or specific announcement to check.

No verified source establishes a date by which players must finish GTA V before GTA 6 takes over. The claim also does not say whether it refers to the single-player story, GTA Online, a subscription catalog listing, account or progress migration, or a limited-time offer. Those are different situations, and a date affecting one would not automatically mean the entire game is becoming unavailable.

Until PlayStation or Rockstar publishes a notice specifying what changes, players should not treat the headline as an instruction to rush through the game, buy another edition, or move an account. No cutoff date, time zone, affected edition, or required action is verified.
Do GTA Online players need to do anything?
No action is established as necessary. The available material does not confirm an upcoming loss of GTA Online access, a transfer requirement, or an expiring account benefit tied to GTA 6. If a genuine notice appears, check its exact wording and confirm that it comes from PlayStation or Rockstar before acting.

- Experience the world of Grand Theft Auto V like never before with the power of the PlayStation 4.
- Explore the City of Los Santos, the countryside and even the ocean.
- Play through an epic single player experience using three very different characters.
- Join your friends in GTA Online and see what trouble you can cause.
- Play golf, tennis, see a film or call someone and just hang out.
- Identify whether the notice concerns PS4, PS5, another platform, or a specific PlayStation service.
- Check whether it applies to GTA V story mode, GTA Online, a catalog listing, account progress, or a promotion.
- Look for the exact cutoff date and time zone, the players or regions affected, and any required steps.
- Distinguish losing access from a game leaving a subscription catalog, a promotion ending, or an optional account change.
What was the separate June 12, 2025 GTA Online deadline?
A GTA BOOM report published May 13, 2025 described a returning-player GTA Online promotion with a June 12 deadline. The report said returning players could receive GTA$1 million, with additional amounts tied to a Shark Card purchase and a GTA+ subscription. That was a past promotional deadline, not a verified PlayStation cutoff for GTA V or GTA Online and not evidence that GTA 6 would replace either game.

What would confirm a real deadline?
A useful official announcement would name the affected game component and platform, specify the date and time zone, explain who is affected, and state what players must do and what happens if they do nothing. Without those details, the claim cannot establish whether access, progress, or only a promotion is at stake.

- This game will no longer support Windows 7 or 8 operating systems starting January 30, 2024.
For now, PlayStation’s archive confirms past GTA V and GTA Online coverage, but it does not substantiate a new hard deadline. Treat any claim of an imminent cutoff as unverified unless it can be matched to a specific PlayStation or Rockstar notice.
