It includes matchmaking across platforms and the ability to invite and play with friends on other systems. Crossplay does not transfer saves or progression: Sloclap said in that September 2025 update that it had no plans for cross-platform progression at the time.
Which platforms can play together?
The official Rematch FAQ lists PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series as the game’s platforms. In its Patch 3 announcement, Sloclap said matchmaking and joining friends would work across the other platforms where the game had released. The FAQ identifies Steam and the Xbox App as PC access options.

That means a player on PC can match or party with someone on PS5 or Xbox Series, and console players can play with people on the other supported systems. The Xbox store also lists Xbox Series X|S, PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and handheld play options for its Xbox listing, but those listing options do not establish identical account, subscription, or save behavior for every device pairing.
What does Rematch crossplay include?
Sloclap’s September 5, 2025 update defines crossplay as “cross-platform matchmaking (playing with and against players from other platforms)” and “cross-platform social features (inviting and playing with friends from other platforms).” So it covers both being matched with players on other systems and deliberately inviting friends across platforms.

How do you turn crossplay on or off?
When Sloclap announced Patch 3, it said crossplay would be enabled by default and could be disabled from the game’s Online options menu. If you want to play only with people on your own platform, open the Online options and turn crossplay off. The studio encouraged players to leave it on for faster matchmaking queues.
If the setting’s label or location has changed in a later update, check the current in-game options or the official Patch 3 notes for the original instructions.

Does crossplay mean your progress transfers?
No. Crossplay lets you play together; cross-progression is the separate feature that carries a save or account progress between platforms. In its September 5, 2025 update, Sloclap said there were “no plans to implement cross-platform progression at this time,” and that progress on one platform would not carry over to another. That statement describes the developer’s position in September 2025; it is not a permanent guarantee about future plans.
Do you need a subscription to play online?
For Xbox console players, the Xbox store says online multiplayer requires Game Pass Core or Game Pass Ultimate, sold separately. Check the Xbox store listing for current terms in your region. The game is primarily online multiplayer, although the official FAQ says practice mode and free play can be played offline.

When did Rematch add crossplay?
Crossplay was not a launch feature. Sloclap confirmed it was live alongside Patch 3 in a developer update dated September 5, 2025. For changes to supported platforms or online features since then, consult the current official FAQ and patch notes.
