No official listing checked confirms that the full game is currently free. On the US Xbox Store, the item marked “Free” is Ryse: Son of Rome In-Game Gold, and the listing says it requires the game. Crytek’s official PC page points to Steam but does not establish a current free-to-keep offer or price.
Is the full game free, or just the gold?
The Xbox Store distinguishes the base game from its “Ryse: Son of Rome In-Game Gold” add-on. The add-on is marked “Free,” but the same listing says it “Requires a game”—it is not a free copy of Ryse: Son of Rome. The US Xbox listing presents the full game with purchase and subscription access details rather than marking it free. See the Xbox Store listing.

This evidence applies to the US listing, not every regional store or a promotion that may appear later. The official pages checked do not confirm a Ryse-specific free-to-keep offer. Epic’s support information explains where to find that store’s free-game promotions and suggests watching for future offers, but it does not establish that Ryse has been included. Where can you play Ryse: Son of Rome?
| Platform or access route | What the official listing establishes |

| PC | Crytek’s official game page identifies a PC version and links to Steam. The page describes PC features, including 4K support, adjustable graphics settings, Super Sampling Anti-Aliasing, and a native-resolution UI; it does not establish today’s price or availability. Crytek |
How to verify whether an offer is live for you
- Open the official store for your region and locate the base game, not an add-on or in-game currency listing.
- Check whether the base game itself is labeled free, or whether access instead requires a purchase or an active subscription.
- For a subscription or cloud option, read the plan and platform conditions shown on the listing. Xbox’s cloud and multiplayer terms are not interchangeable.
- Confirm the offer’s end date and eligibility in your own storefront before relying on a free-game claim. Store availability, prices, and subscription terms may differ by region and change over time.
Crytek also has an official store product page, but the page information available here does not establish a current price or sale. Crytek Store product page.
