Is Silent Hill 2 still in development?
No. Konami announced the remake’s October 8, 2024 release for PS5 and PC via Steam. The game revisits the 2001 psychological horror story, following James Sunderland as he searches Silent Hill for clues after receiving a mysterious letter from his deceased wife, Mary. Konami’s product page and release announcement describe the released game and its premise.

Why older pages say it is in development
Konami initially announced a remake of the original 2001 game with Bloober Team and named PS5 and Steam as platforms. That announcement described the project at the time; it is not evidence that development is still underway. The later release announcement superseded that status.
Where can you play the remake?
Konami’s current U.S. product listing names PS5, Steam, Epic, and GOG. Its 2024 release announcement specifically named PS5 and PC via Steam. Storefront listings and availability can differ by region and change over time, so check the store serving your location for current availability.

Who developed the Silent Hill 2 remake?
Bloober Team developed the remake in collaboration with Konami. The project reworks the story and setting of the original Silent Hill 2, rather than being a new game that remains in production.

Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. says sales surpassed two million units. The cited sales result does not establish an exact publication year, so the figure should not be treated as a current sales total or assigned a year here. Konami’s announcement is the source for the claim.
