- Open My Hangar.
- Expand each relevant pledge or package to display its individual contents.
- Look for an explicit Squadron 42 entitlement or wording that names the single-player game.
- Record the pledge name and included items before comparing it with any new listing.
If the expanded contents name only Star Citizen, a ship, insurance, in-game currency, or other assets, do not assume that Squadron 42 is included. RSI’s FAQ describes those items as common package contents, but those examples do not prove that a particular pledge contains the single-player game.

Why old backer memories can be misleading
Package rules changed over time. A February 2016 RSI package-split notice said existing backers retained both Star Citizen’s persistent universe and Squadron 42. It also said that packages created after February 14, 2016 could select one module separately or add the other, and that both modules were accessed through the same client at that time. This is historical context, not a guarantee that current packages work identically.

Does a Star Citizen package include Squadron 42?
Not automatically. A Star Citizen game package is not, by name alone, proof that it contains the separate single-player title. RSI’s FAQ says a game package can contain a digital copy of Star Citizen, a ship, and other assets. The 2016 split notice explains how the two modules could be separated or combined during that period, but it does not establish the rules for every later offer.
Use this test:
- Explicitly names Squadron 42: Treat that as evidence of the entitlement, subject to the account’s displayed contents and the listing’s terms.
- Names only Star Citizen: Do not count it as Squadron 42 access.

RSI’s general FAQ gives examples of pledge items such as insurance, UEC, ships, and a manual. These are examples of package components, not a specification for a future Squadron 42 retail edition. A reservation may appeal to patient supporters

If your account already contains Squadron 42, a second purchase may add nothing. Check My Hangar first. If your pledge contains Star Citizen but not the single-player game, wait for a confirmed current offer rather than relying on a remembered 2016 bundle.

Mistake: paying a third party for an unverified key
The researched access model is an account-based RSI pledge. Until RSI confirms another distribution method, an outside listing that does not clearly map to your RSI account creates avoidable entitlement and support risk.
