St Amelia is fictional, not a real Scottish town you can visit. Silent Hill: Townfall sets its horror on the island of St Amelia, a made-up fishing town shaped in part by real coastal places—especially St Monans in Fife’s East Neuk. The distinction matters: St Monans is an inspiration, not a map of the game’s town.
Is St Amelia real, and where is it in Silent Hill: Townfall?
St Amelia is the fictional island and town at the center of Silent Hill: Townfall. Konami describes protagonist Simon Ordell as returning to the desolate island to “put things right.” The game draws on Scottish coastal settings, but St Amelia itself is not a real-world destination.

That fictional setting fits the developers’ broader approach to the series. The Guardian’s July 29, 2026 feature quotes developer Jon McKellan describing Silent Hill as “not as a physical location but as a phenomenon, a state of mind.” The quote is attributed to McKellan by the Guardian.
What real place inspired St Amelia?
St Monans, a fishing village in Fife’s East Neuk, is reported as a key inspiration for St Amelia. The Guardian reports that the development team also visited and extensively photographed other seafront towns. That points to a composite setting rather than a one-to-one recreation of St Monans.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
So a visit to St Monans can offer real coastal context for the game, but it will not take you to St Amelia or guarantee that you will find a particular game building there. The game’s town is an artistic construction informed by real places.
How does the game use its Scottish setting?
Konami presents the story as Simon Ordell’s return to St Amelia. Gameplay footage reported by Video Games Chronicle shows exploration of the village and use of a CRTV device to get clues about where to go. Those details make the town more than a backdrop, while the available reporting does not establish that its individual streets or buildings copy specific sites in St Monans.

Who made Silent Hill: Townfall?
Scottish studio Screen Burn Interactive developed Silent Hill: Townfall, with Annapurna Interactive and Konami co-publishing, according to Konami. Its Scottish setting therefore has a connection to the team’s local landscape, but that does not make the fictional St Amelia a real place.

Can you visit the real-life inspiration?
You can visit St Monans in Fife, but not St Amelia. Treat St Monans as a real-world point of reference for the coastal atmosphere, rather than a verified tour of game locations. The reporting identifies it as one important inspiration alongside other seafront towns; it does not establish a complete list of filming or reference sites, or a building-by-building match.
