The important correction is that “August” refers to the game’s 2024 launch window, not an upcoming August release in 2026. Eligible players received early access on August 27, 2024, and the standard release followed on August 30, 2024. NVIDIA’s launch coverage identified the Ubisoft Connect PC version as the relevant GeForce NOW release.
To play, you need both a GeForce NOW membership or access tier and a valid PC game entitlement through a supported account. GeForce NOW streams the game from NVIDIA’s servers; it does not automatically give every subscriber a copy of Star Wars Outlaws.

The August dates that matter
The original release timeline explains why some search results still say that Star Wars Outlaws was “coming to GeForce NOW in August.” Those announcements were made in 2024:

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- August 27, 2024: Early access began for eligible Gold and Ultimate Edition owners.
- August 29, 2024: NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW weekly update confirmed the game’s cloud availability during early access.
- August 30, 2024: The standard game launch took place.
NVIDIA announced that the game would be available on GeForce NOW at launch. In other words, the headline is stale if it is presented as a future release announcement. Check NVIDIA’s current GeForce NOW games list before buying, since cloud catalogs and regional availability can change.

What you need to play Star Wars Outlaws on GeForce NOW
There are three separate requirements:
- A GeForce NOW account: This provides access to NVIDIA’s cloud gaming hardware and streaming service.
- A game entitlement: You must own or otherwise access the PC version through a supported storefront or subscription.
- The correct Ubisoft account: The Ubisoft Connect PC version requires the Ubisoft account attached to your game entitlement.
These are not interchangeable. A GeForce NOW subscription is not a game license, and owning the game on a console does not grant the PC entitlement needed for cloud streaming.
NVIDIA describes GeForce NOW as a way to connect supported PC game libraries, including Ubisoft Connect and other supported storefronts. For Star Wars Outlaws, however, NVIDIA’s game-specific support documentation centers on the Ubisoft Connect PC version. The safest route is to verify the exact storefront and account combination in the current GeForce NOW app before purchasing specifically for cloud play.
Which editions and storefronts work?
Ubisoft lists the PC game through the Ubisoft Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store. That does not mean every PC purchase should automatically be assumed to work identically on GeForce NOW. NVIDIA’s launch and support material specifically identifies Ubisoft Connect.
Use these distinctions when deciding what to buy:
- Ubisoft Connect PC: The most clearly documented route for Star Wars Outlaws on GeForce NOW.
- Steam or Epic Games Store: Ubisoft lists these PC platforms, but confirm current GeForce NOW support and Ubisoft-account linking before buying for cloud use.
- PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or Nintendo Switch 2: These are separate console editions. A console purchase is not a PC license for GeForce NOW.
Ubisoft also requires a Ubisoft account and the Ubisoft Connect application for its PC product. Details may vary by storefront, so follow the sign-in prompt shown when launching through GeForce NOW. See the official Ubisoft Store listing for current PC platform information.

Can Ubisoft+ subscribers play it?
NVIDIA’s support page specifically discusses players who own Star Wars Outlaws and Ubisoft+ members. Subscription access can work, but the game must be attached to the correct Ubisoft account and may need to be added to that account’s Ubisoft Connect library first.
Ubisoft+ availability can depend on your subscription tier, country, account status, and current service policies. If the game is missing, use the troubleshooting steps below rather than assuming that the subscription is unsupported.

How to launch the game
- Sign in to GeForce NOW on the supported app or browser.
- Search for Star Wars Outlaws.
- Choose the supported PC version shown by GeForce NOW.
- Sign in to or authorize the relevant Ubisoft account when prompted.
- Launch the game through Ubisoft Connect.
Menu names can change between GeForce NOW app versions and regions. If the game does not appear as owned, resynchronize the connected library.
If GeForce NOW does not recognize the game
NVIDIA’s documented recovery path is particularly useful when the game is missing or the app incorrectly asks you to claim ownership:
- Confirm that the game entitlement belongs to the Ubisoft account currently linked to GeForce NOW.
- Resynchronize your Ubisoft Connect library inside GeForce NOW.
- If the interface displays “MARK AS OWNED,” select “NOT NOW.”
- Choose “YES, CONTINUE.”
- Select “PLAY.”
Those exact labels are taken from NVIDIA’s support instructions and may differ in a newer app build.

For Ubisoft+ users, NVIDIA advises visiting the Ubisoft+ website, locating Star Wars Outlaws, and using the download or add icon to place it in the Ubisoft library. Return to GeForce NOW and resynchronize the library afterward.

Supported devices
GeForce NOW can make the PC version playable on hardware that could not run the game locally. NVIDIA’s launch materials described streaming support for:
- Windows PCs and Macs
- iPhone and iPad through a supported browser
- Android phones and tablets
- Chromebooks
- Compatible LG and Samsung smart TVs
- Other supported devices using compatible input methods
A compatible controller is often the best option for a console-style game, though supported keyboard and mouse input may depend on the device and app. Resolution, frame rate, queue priority, session length, RTX features, browser support, and availability vary by membership tier, region, hardware location, and current NVIDIA requirements.
Graphics features and cloud performance
NVIDIA promoted Star Wars Outlaws with DLSS 3.5, Ray Reconstruction, ray tracing, and NVIDIA Reflex. NVIDIA also said that GeForce NOW Ultimate could stream the game using technology comparable to high-end GeForce RTX 40-series systems.

That is NVIDIA’s description of the available technology, not a guarantee that every player will see identical image quality or latency. Your result also depends on the membership tier, streaming device, network connection, data-center distance, regional capacity, and in-game settings. NVIDIA’s current premium materials promote newer RTX 50-series and DLSS 4 capabilities for Ultimate members generally; those newer claims should not be confused with the features announced for the game’s 2024 launch.
Common streaming problems
If the game launches but looks poor or feels unresponsive, the issue may not be game compatibility. Common causes include:
- Unstable or congested Wi-Fi
- High latency to the selected GeForce NOW data center
- Regional server load
- Membership queues or session limits
- Browser or device limitations
- Controller or input incompatibility
- Ubisoft account synchronization errors
Try a wired connection or a less congested network, close other bandwidth-heavy applications, and check GeForce NOW’s connection diagnostics. A premium tier can improve queue priority, session limits, resolution, or available cloud hardware, but it cannot eliminate latency caused by your home network or distance from NVIDIA’s servers.

NVIDIA’s support article documented an important limitation for the Ubisoft Connect PC version: the Ubisoft Connect in-game overlay was unavailable for Star Wars Outlaws on GeForce NOW at the time of that update.
That could affect Ubisoft Connect menu actions, redemption of certain in-game rewards, and access to the game’s Discord link from the in-game menu. NVIDIA advised users to redeem rewards through Ubisoft.com instead.

Which GeForce NOW plan makes sense?
NVIDIA’s current U.S. pricing signals list the following options, although prices, taxes, promotions, plan features, and availability can vary by country and change over time:
- Performance: Listed at $9.99 per month or $49.99 for six months. This is the likely value choice for regular play when the highest-end cloud hardware is not essential.
- Ultimate: Listed at $19.99 per month or $99.99 for six months, with an annual price signal of $199.99. It is aimed at players who prioritize higher-end RTX hardware, resolution, frame rates, and queue priority.
- Day Pass: NVIDIA offers 24-hour access. Check the live checkout price for your country before purchasing. It can be useful for testing your device, connection, and account setup.
Free or lower-cost access may be useful for compatibility testing, but queues, session limits, priority, and performance depend on the current plan. Buying Ultimate does not include the game, and buying an expensive edition of Outlaws does not include a GeForce NOW membership. Compare current plans on NVIDIA’s official membership page.
Is GeForce NOW worth using for Star Wars Outlaws?
It is a strong fit if you own the PC version, lack a gaming PC, and have a stable low-latency connection. It is also convenient for playing on a Mac, Chromebook, phone, browser, or compatible TV without downloading and updating the game locally.
It is a weaker fit if you expect the membership to include the game, own only a console copy, have unreliable internet, need offline play, want complete control over local files or mods, or depend on Ubisoft Connect overlay features. A local PC gives you more control and offline access, but requires suitable hardware and storage.
Alternatives
Local PC: Best for offline access, local files, mods, and full graphics control. Ubisoft’s published PC specifications require Windows 10 or 11 with DirectX 12; the minimum-class graphics hardware includes a GeForce GTX 1660 6GB, Radeon RX 5600 XT 6GB, or Intel Arc A750 8GB with ReBAR enabled. See Ubisoft’s PC specifications.
Amazon Luna: Ubisoft lists Luna as another availability route. Catalog access, subscription requirements, region, and streaming quality should be checked separately.
Recommended Free Tools
Console: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 editions are alternatives, but they are separate from the PC license used by GeForce NOW. Ubisoft’s official game page lists the current platform information.
