It was created by SRT for the Vision Gran Turismo project and released as a playable vehicle in Gran Turismo 6. Its 1,000-plus-horsepower versions, 300-mph claims, pneumatic drive system, and active aerodynamic panels belong to a fictional 2035 performance vision, not a road-legal Dodge you can purchase.
Yes—but only in a specific sense. The Dodge SRT Tomahawk is a real, officially presented virtual Dodge/SRT concept car created for the Vision Gran Turismo project. It is not a production automobile, a street-legal Dodge model, or a car you can buy from a dealership.

Gran Turismo’s official announcement described it as the “SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo,” a futuristic “sportscar of 2035” developed for players of Gran Turismo 6. Its spectacular horsepower, speed, active-aerodynamic and pneumatic-system figures are concept or game specifications—not independently tested results from a real road car.

What the Dodge SRT Tomahawk actually is
FCA US announced the SRT Tomahawk on June 2, 2015, as a collaboration between SRT engineering and design personnel. The car was created for the Vision Gran Turismo program, which allows automakers to design extreme vehicles specifically for the Gran Turismo racing-game universe.

That makes the Tomahawk “real” as an official digital design and playable game car. It does not make it real in the normal automotive sense. There is no verified production run, dealer inventory, customer-delivery program, road-certification record, or official Dodge sales page for a full-size SRT Tomahawk automobile.
Why it looks like a real car
The Tomahawk is easy to mistake for a physical concept or future production preview because it has nearly everything associated with a serious automotive launch:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches- an official Dodge/SRT identity;
- professional exterior and interior design work;
- detailed technical specifications;
- a formal manufacturer-side announcement;
- multiple versions with different performance targets; and
- a playable presence in a major racing franchise.
Its “2035” designation can also sound like a product roadmap. It is not one. In this context, 2035 is part of the vehicle’s fictional future setting and design brief, not a promise that Dodge planned to manufacture it in that year.
The same caution applies to its performance numbers. The figures describe an imagined future-performance system designed for a game. They should not be treated like verified dyno, acceleration, top-speed, or track-test results from a physical automobile.
The three SRT Tomahawk versions
Gran Turismo presented the Tomahawk as a family of three increasingly extreme vehicles: the S, the GTS-R, and the X. The specifications below are the official concept or game figures reported for the vehicles.

| Version | Claimed output | Claimed weight | Claimed top speed | Character |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S Vision Gran Turismo | 792 hp from the V10 plus 215 hp from the pneumatic front-wheel system; 1,007 hp total | 2,026 lb | More than 250 mph | The most approachable, street-oriented interpretation |
| GTS-R Vision Gran Turismo | 1,137 hp from the V10 plus 313 hp from the air-driven front wheels; 1,450 hp total | 1,459 lb | More than 300 mph | A lighter, race-focused version |
| X Vision Gran Turismo | More than 2,000 hp from the V10 and more than 2,500 hp total with the pneumatic system fully charged | Not specified in the cited material | Not specified in the cited material | An intentionally excessive, future-technology showcase |
SRT Tomahawk S
The S is the entry point to the family and the version described as closest to a street-car interpretation. Its concept specification combines a 7.0-liter V10 producing 792 hp with pneumatic power adding 215 hp to the front wheels, for a stated total of 1,007 hp. Gran Turismo listed a 2,026-pound curb weight and a top speed above 250 mph.

“Closest to street legal” does not mean that Dodge homologated the S for public roads. It describes the role the S plays within the fictional lineup. There is no evidence that an actual road-legal SRT Tomahawk S was built or sold.
SRT Tomahawk GTS-R
The GTS-R moves the idea toward a dedicated racing machine. Its listed 1,137 hp from the V10 and 313 hp from the air-driven front wheels produce a claimed 1,450 hp. The stated weight is just 1,459 pounds, with a top speed above 300 mph.
The official description also introduces a pressurized racing suit intended to counter the physiological effects of extreme lateral acceleration. That detail belongs to the Tomahawk’s fictional future-tech setting. It is not evidence of a real Dodge racing program or a documented safety system used in an actual race car.
SRT Tomahawk X
The X is the deliberately extreme flagship. Gran Turismo describes more than 2,000 hp from its V10 and more than 2,500 hp of total all-wheel-drive output when its pneumatic cylinders are fully charged.
It also features nine independently actuating aerodynamic panels, a driver G-suit, and a claimed seven-month training program for anyone attempting to operate the car at its limits. Those elements make the X especially clear as a virtual vision of future performance rather than a concealed production vehicle.

- High-definition micro-spray technology, with delicate and full color reproduction, presenting a high-end and durable picture texture.
- Thickened waterproof canvas material, sturdy and durable, not easy to fade or deform even after long-term use.
- Solid wood inner frame for canvas stretching, flat and straight, with pre-installed hanging holes, ready to hang on the wall without additional framing.
- Modern and minimalist style, versatile for various scenes such as living room, bedroom, hallway, study room and office.
- Multiple sizes available, supporting combination matching, easily enhancing the style and artistic atmosphere of the space.
What technology does the Tomahawk imagine?
The Tomahawk’s technical description combines recognizable automotive ideas with deliberately futuristic inventions. The official concept outlines a single-seat layout, a mid-rear-mounted engine, all-wheel drive, and a nearly flat 6.98-liter V10. It then adds systems intended to push the car far beyond present-day production-car constraints:
- Pneumatic energy storage: compressed-air systems supply additional drive to the front wheels and contribute to the extraordinary total-output claims.
- Active aerodynamics: the car changes its aerodynamic surfaces to manage downforce and speed; the X is described with nine independently moving panels.
- Advanced materials: the concept references graphene-related structural and transparent materials.
- Physiological equipment: the GTS-R and X descriptions include specialized suits intended to help a driver withstand extreme forces.
These details are useful for understanding the design fantasy, but they should not be confused with a public engineering program, a tested prototype, or technology that Dodge made available to customers.
Can you buy a real Dodge SRT Tomahawk?
No. You cannot order a new SRT Tomahawk from Dodge, find one in a Dodge dealership, register one for normal road use, or buy a verified production example from a private owner.
The researched official material identifies the Tomahawk as a Vision Gran Turismo concept developed for Gran Turismo. It does not document a physical production run, MSRP, production quantity, road certification, customer deliveries, or a completed road-going car.
Some third-party listings may describe Tomahawk die-cast models or collectibles. Unless the seller provides reliable licensing documentation, those should be treated as unofficial or unverified merchandise. A model listing is not evidence that Dodge built the full-size car.
Where can you drive the SRT Tomahawk?
The original way to drive it was in Gran Turismo 6 for PlayStation 3. Players could access the vehicle through the Vision GT section after installing Update 1.20, with additional acquisition methods offered through limited-time events at the time of release.

The official Vision Gran Turismo catalogue associates the Dodge SRT Tomahawk with Gran Turismo 6, Gran Turismo Sport, and Gran Turismo 7. That is a legitimate digital route to experiencing the car, but it does not mean every edition or account automatically provides immediate access. Game updates, platform, region, and current in-game requirements can affect availability.

Buying note: A physical copy of Gran Turismo 7 gives you the game, not a real-world Tomahawk. It also should not be advertised as guaranteeing immediate access to the vehicle without checking the current version’s acquisition rules.

Searches for “Dodge Tomahawk” often combine two different Dodge design exercises.
| Name | What it is | How it differs |
|---|---|---|
| Dodge Tomahawk | An early-2000s, four-wheeled motorcycle-style concept associated with the Dodge Viper V10 | A separate physical design concept from the SRT Vision Gran Turismo car |
| Dodge SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo | A 2015 digital concept created for the Gran Turismo series | The subject of this article; it is not the Viper-powered motorcycle-style concept |
Specifications or photographs of the earlier Dodge Tomahawk motorcycle-style concept cannot be used as proof that the SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo automobile exists in physical form.
Bottom line: is the Dodge SRT Tomahawk real?
The most accurate answer is: the Dodge SRT Tomahawk is real as an official virtual concept and game car, but it is not a real production automobile.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you buy a real Dodge SRT Tomahawk?
No. The SRT Tomahawk was created as a Vision Gran Turismo concept for the Gran Turismo games. There is no verified production model, dealership inventory, road-certification record, or customer-delivery program for a full-size car.
What game is the Dodge SRT Tomahawk in?
The original release was in Gran Turismo 6 on PlayStation 3 after Update 1.20. The official Vision Gran Turismo catalogue also associates the car with Gran Turismo Sport and Gran Turismo 7. Current access can depend on the game version, platform, region, and in-game requirements.
Was the SRT Tomahawk S street legal?
No. The S is described as the version closest to a street-legal interpretation within the fictional lineup. That does not mean Dodge actually homologated or sold it for public-road use.
Is the SRT Tomahawk the same as the Dodge Tomahawk motorcycle?
No. The 2003-era Dodge Tomahawk was a separate four-wheeled motorcycle-style concept associated with the Viper V10. The SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo was a later digital concept created for Gran Turismo.
The Bottom Line
In short: the SRT Tomahawk exists officially inside the Gran Turismo universe, not as a road car. You can drive it digitally, but you cannot buy a full-size production example from Dodge.
