To set up a Logitech G920 on a Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC, mount the wheel securely, connect the three-pedal unit to the wheel base, connect the supplied AC adapter, and plug the wheel’s USB cable directly into the PC. Install Logitech G HUB, confirm that it detects the wheel, then map steering, pedals, buttons, and force feedback inside the game.
The important distinction is that Logitech can provide the hardware, G HUB support, and connection requirements; the game’s developer determines whether the G920, its 900-degree steering range, its pedals, and force feedback work properly in that title.

What you need
- Logitech G920 Driving Force Racing Wheel, including its wheel base and steering wheel.
- The separate G920 three-pedal assembly.
- The supplied 24 V, 1.75 A AC power adapter. The wheel needs external power for its force-feedback system; USB alone is not a complete setup. Logitech’s specifications identify the required adapter and connection details.
- A Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC with an available USB port.
- Logitech G HUB, downloaded from Logitech’s official G HUB support page.
- A game that supports Logitech racing wheels. Force feedback and the available controls depend on the individual game.
- A stable desk or mounting surface with enough room for the wheel and pedals.
The G920 uses a wired USB connection, has a maximum 900-degree steering range, dual-motor force feedback, and a DB9 connection between the wheel base and pedal set. Its desk clamp opens to approximately 50 mm, while the pedal base includes a retractable non-slip feature. These specifications matter when choosing where to install it and how to route its cables.

- Place the wheel on a sturdy, level desk or attach it to a compatible racing stand or cockpit.
- Turn the clamp handles until the wheel is held firmly. Tighten it enough that the base cannot move, but do not use excessive force.
- Position the pedal base so it cannot slide away when you press the brake. Extend its underside non-slip feature if the pedals move on your floor.
- Connect the pedal assembly to the pedal connector on the wheel base. Push the connector fully into place; a partially seated plug can make one or more pedals disappear.
Keep the wheel clear of monitors, walls, cables, and other objects. During startup calibration it can rotate through its range, and an obstruction can interrupt that movement or damage something nearby.

2. Connect power and USB
- Connect the supplied AC adapter to the power input on the wheel base.
- Plug the adapter into a suitable outlet.
- Connect the wheel’s USB cable directly to the PC for the initial installation. Avoid an unpowered USB hub while you are diagnosing the device.
- Turn on or wake the computer and wait for the wheel to complete its startup movement before launching a game.
Do not connect only the USB cable and expect force feedback to work. USB carries the device connection, but the G920’s force-feedback hardware depends on its external 24 V power adapter. Logitech’s G920 user guide also instructs users to keep the wheel unobstructed while it initializes.
3. Install Logitech G HUB
- Download G HUB from Logitech’s official support site rather than from a third-party driver repository.
- Run the installer and follow the Windows prompts.
- Open G HUB after installation.
- Wait for the G920 to appear as a connected device, then select it.
- Inspect the wheel’s available input and device controls. Keep G HUB installed and running or available while you test the wheel in your first game.
G HUB is Logitech’s supported configuration software for the G920. It is useful for confirming that Windows and Logitech software can see the wheel before you troubleshoot a game’s control settings.
You do not normally need Logitech’s old standalone Firmware Update Tool. Logitech’s product-support record says that tool is no longer supported or maintained. Keep G HUB current when practical: Logitech’s release notes include G920-specific fixes, including changes related to stationary wheel oscillation in some games and combined-pedal behavior, although an update cannot guarantee a fix for every game or hardware problem. See the G HUB release notes for the current documented changes.

A G920 that appears in G HUB is not automatically supported by every PC game. Wheel support is implemented title by title, and games differ in their presets, calibration ranges, pedal handling, and force-feedback options. Check the game’s current PC requirements, controller documentation, or developer announcement if the wheel is not listed.

- Open the game and go to Settings, Options, Controls, or Input.
- Choose a Wheel, Racing Wheel, Logitech, or custom controller profile if one is available.
- Select the steering binding, then turn the wheel through its range when the game asks for an input.
- Bind the accelerator, brake, and clutch separately by pressing each pedal when prompted.
- Assign the paddle shifters and the buttons you use most often, such as pause, look back, handbrake, or headlights.
- Set the game’s steering rotation, sensitivity, dead zone, and force-feedback strength using the game’s own terminology.
- Test the car at low speed before increasing force-feedback strength or making aggressive sensitivity changes.
Some games expose a steering-angle value; others manage the range automatically. Some treat the pedals as separate axes, while others offer a Combined pedals option. Do not copy a setting from another title without checking what that title expects.
Recommended first-test settings
There is no universal G920 setting that is correct for every game. Start with the game’s default wheel profile or a moderate force-feedback level, then make one change at a time. Confirm that the wheel returns to center normally, that the car does not steer by itself, and that pressing one pedal does not activate another. If the wheel oscillates while the car is stationary, reduce the game’s force-feedback or stationary/friction-related setting rather than assuming the wheel is defective.
Troubleshooting
The G920 is not recognized by Windows, G HUB, or the game
- Close the game.
- Confirm that the AC adapter is connected both to the wheel base and to the outlet.
- Disconnect the USB cable, reboot the PC if the device state appears stuck, and reconnect the wheel directly to a different USB port.
- Open G HUB and check whether the G920 appears before launching the game.
- Repair or reinstall the current G HUB installation if the software does not detect the device.
If G HUB still cannot see the wheel, inspect the USB cable, power connection, pedal connector, and visible plugs for damage. Logitech has also documented a recognition and USB-problem procedure involving its WheelDriverCleaner utility. Because that procedure and its download path can change, use the current Logitech support instructions rather than downloading a similarly named utility from an unofficial site.

- Exit the game and verify that the AC adapter is firmly connected.
- Confirm that G HUB detects the wheel.
- Reconnect the USB cable directly to the PC instead of using an unpowered hub.
- Open the game again and check that force feedback is enabled.
- Check that the game’s steering and force-feedback assignments use the G920, not a keyboard, gamepad, or second controller.
- Try another known wheel-supported game if one is available.
Logitech’s force-feedback troubleshooting guidance follows the same basic distinction: confirm the software, power, game mappings, and force-feedback settings before treating the hardware as failed. If steering works in several games but force feedback does not, the game’s support or profile is a more likely cause than USB steering input itself.
The pedals are missing, reversed, or combined
- Close the game and reseat the pedal connector at the wheel base.
- Open the game’s input screen and test the accelerator, brake, and clutch individually.
- Check whether the game expects separate pedal axes or has a Combined pedals switch. Use the mode required by that particular game.
- Do not adjust sensitivity or dead zones until you know the game is receiving the correct pedal input.
- If the pedals fail in multiple games, disconnect and reconnect the wheel, then inspect the cable and connector for visible damage.
A combined-pedal setting or game profile can cause this symptom even when the pedal hardware is fine. Logitech’s G HUB release notes specifically document a G920 combined-pedals fix, so update the official software before concluding that the pedal set has failed.
The wheel does not calibrate or its movement is obstructed
Disconnect nearby objects and make sure the wheel has room to rotate during startup. Confirm the power adapter is connected, then reconnect USB directly to the PC. If the wheel repeatedly stops partway through its initialization, disappears from G HUB, or shows visible cable or connector damage, stop using it and follow Logitech’s support and warranty options rather than forcing the wheel through its movement.
Desk, stand, and cable considerations
A desk is sufficient if it is rigid enough to resist the wheel’s movement and has a front edge that works with the clamp. A racing wheel stand or sim-racing cockpit is worth considering when the desk is too thin, unstable, too high, or shared with other equipment. Verify that any stand supports the G920’s clamp or mounting pattern and has a pedal plate that prevents the three-pedal base from sliding.

A USB extension cable is not part of the normal setup. Use the shortest reliable direct connection first; add an extension only if your layout genuinely requires one and the wheel remains consistently detected. Likewise, do not substitute a generic power adapter. A replacement must match the G920’s voltage, current, connector, polarity, and model requirements exactly; a similar-looking adapter is not proof of compatibility.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use the G920 with only a USB connection?
No. USB connects the G920 to the PC, but the wheel’s force-feedback system also requires the supplied external 24 V, 1.75 A AC adapter.
Does G HUB make the G920 work with every PC game?
No. Logitech supports the G920 through G HUB, but each game must separately support Logitech racing wheels. G HUB detection does not guarantee that a particular title provides native wheel input or force feedback.
Why does my G920 steer but have no force feedback?
First confirm that the AC adapter is connected and that G HUB detects the wheel. Then connect USB directly to the PC, reopen the game, and check its force-feedback and controller mappings. Test another wheel-supported game if possible.
Why are my G920 pedals not working correctly?
Reseat the pedal connector, test each pedal in the game’s input menu, and check whether the title requires separate or combined pedal axes. If the problem occurs in multiple games, inspect the connector and cable for visible damage.
The Bottom Line
For a reliable Windows setup, connect the pedals to the wheel, connect the supplied AC adapter, connect USB directly to the PC, confirm detection in Logitech G HUB, and then configure every input inside the game. If the wheel is detected but a feature does not work, troubleshoot the game’s profile and force-feedback settings before replacing hardware.
