Its imagined casting includes Will Smith as CJ and Samuel L. Jackson as Officer Tenpenny; the accessible story copy does not establish what role, if any, Chris Rock would play.
What the concept trailer shows
CBR’s September 2, 2024, story, reproduced in an IMDb-hosted listing, describes a fan-made video shared by Multiverse Of AI. The story says it uses AI-generated voices, images, and animation to imagine a live-action adaptation of the game. The listing is a syndication of CBR’s article, and its video description—not an independently verified viewing of the trailer—is the basis for these details. Read the CBR story as reproduced by IMDb.

The imagined casting
The story identifies Will Smith as Carl “CJ” Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson as Officer Tenpenny. Jackson voiced Tenpenny in the original game. Although Chris Rock appears in the headline, the accessible story copy does not say which character he might portray, so a specific role cannot be confirmed from that account.
Why this is not a GTA movie announcement
The CBR account presents the video as an AI concept, not a studio production, casting announcement, or official adaptation. Nothing in that account indicates that Rockstar has announced a San Andreas movie. The imagined actors and scenes should therefore be treated as fan-created speculation rather than news about a film in production.
