That is a nod to the relationship, not a substantial continuation of it; the reports are anecdotal, and no official transcript or romance guide located here documents the specific exchange.
What players report about Dorian and the Inquisitor
Discussions on r/dragonage and r/DragonAgeVeilguard around November 2024 describe a brief, late-game acknowledgement of a Dorian romance. Reports mention a short dialogue moment and/or a codex reference, but they do not establish an exact line or a definitive transcript. Treat the detail as a player-reported nod rather than a fully documented scene.
That distinction matters: an acknowledgement means the prior relationship is recognized; it does not necessarily mean the game gives it meaningful screen time or resolves what happened between the characters. The available reports support the first point, suggest limited treatment on the second, and cannot determine whether the emotional continuation will satisfy any particular player.

What the Inquisition romance established
Dorian is a romance option for an eligible Inquisitor in Dragon Age: Inquisition. The community-maintained Dorian romance transcript records an explicit choice to begin a relationship, followed by conversation about what might happen after the central conflict. For players who made that choice, Dorian was not simply a flirtation or an implied possibility: the romance path presents the pair as partners and looks toward their future.
That history is why a brief acknowledgement in a later game can feel slight. The Inquisitor-Dorian romance had a defined beginning and a future-facing conversation; the player reports about The Veilguard do not describe an equivalent continuation.

Legacy romance is separate from Veilguard’s Rook romances
The Veilguard has a new romance system centered on Rook and the new companions. EA’s romance guide says romance unlocks dialogue and deeper insight into companions, and that players eventually commit to one partner. Those are mechanics for Rook’s relationships; they do not establish how much attention a prior Inquisitor romance receives.
The distinction also fits BioWare’s framing of the game. In its June 6, 2024 announcement, BioWare described each series entry as a standalone story with a new protagonist. In the same announcement, Executive Producer and BioWare General Manager Gary McKay said: “Each of the seven unique characters that make up your companions will have deep and compelling storylines where the decisions you make will impact your relationships with them – as well as their lives.” That statement concerns the announced companion-story design; it is not a promise of an extensive continuation for every relationship from an earlier game.

What to expect if you wanted more follow-through
If your main question is whether the game acknowledges a Dorian romance at all, player reports indicate that it does. If you are hoping for a substantial reunion, an extended relationship scene, or a detailed account of the couple’s life after Inquisition, the available reports do not support that expectation. The precise content and wording remain unconfirmed by an official transcript in the sources cited here.
There is no published statistic measuring how often or how deeply The Veilguard recognizes Dorian-romanced Inquisitors, so anecdotal reports should not be treated as representative of every playthrough or as a measure of the game’s overall legacy continuity.
