That answers what the new game is called now; it does not rule out Activision announcing a future game with a different title.
What is the new Call of Duty: Black Ops game called?
Activision’s official listing names the released game Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and gives its release date as November 14, 2025. The official sources reviewed do not identify a new game called Black Ops 5. Activision’s Black Ops 7 listing
The numbering may be confusing, but the publisher’s current title is unambiguous: the new release is Black Ops 7. This reflects the official listings available as of October 8, 2026, rather than a prediction about what Activision may announce later. Blizzard News’ official announcement described it as “the next evolution of Black Ops” and the “first-ever consecutive release within the series.”
When did Black Ops 7 come out, and what platforms is it on?
Activision lists November 14, 2025 as the release date. Its listing names Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Battle.net, Steam, and Game Pass among its platforms or services. Edition and availability can differ by platform, so check the specific store listing before buying. Activision’s Black Ops 7 listing

Yes. The official Call of Duty site showed Season 06 launching September 17, 2026, and the official site and update indicate that seasonal content continued into 2026. The launch map counts are historical, not a current total: Activision described 16 6v6 maps and two 20v20 maps at launch. Call of Duty official site Call of Duty updates
Could Activision announce Black Ops 5 later?
It is possible, but the official pages reviewed do not establish whether Activision will announce a future game called Black Ops 5. The accurate answer is about the released game currently listed by the publisher: it is Black Ops 7, not Black Ops 5.
