What did the remake leak claim?
On July 12, 2023, Video Games Chronicle reported that Simone Bailly, an actor who appeared in the 2005 game, had posted that a remake was in development and expected in 2024. The post was later deleted, and Bailly reportedly tagged Criterion Games.

This is a reported claim from Bailly, not an EA announcement. The tag does not establish that Criterion confirmed the project, and the report does not independently verify that development was underway.

No confirmation or cancellation is established by the sources available here. In an EA forum discussion about a remake of the 2005 game, an EA staff account replied: “We don’t have any information to share if there will be a remake.” The account also suggested watching EA’s social channels for announcements. This was a response at the time of that forum discussion, not a current update on the project.
