Those are distinct releases, so the collaboration should not be described as a Shadow-only anniversary collection.
What is actually available under the Sonic 35th anniversary label?
SEGA’s official 35th anniversary shop collection lists ten Sonic-branded items: a varsity jacket, Green Hill Zone statue, snapback hat, Chaos Emerald tee, Run crossbody bag, Green Hill Zone tee, mug, journal, varsity jacket Buddy plush, and SuperSonic Hero pin set. It is a Sonic anniversary assortment, not a Shadow collection.

Shadow × Hangyodon collaboration goods
SEGA announced a separate SONIC & FRIENDS × Sanrio collaboration featuring Shadow paired with Hangyodon. Its announced products are an acrylic figure in a six-character assortment, mini shoulder bag, pouch, and die-cut hand towel. The Japanese announcement lists prices of ¥880 per random acrylic figure or ¥5,280 for a box, ¥4,180 for the mini bag, ¥3,630 for the pouch, and ¥1,650 for the towel. According to SEGA, a single figure is selected at random; an unopened box contains all six designs. The announcement points to Sega Store Online, but it does not establish current inventory or shipping availability outside Japan.

Sonic × Shadow Generations bundles Sonic Generations with the new Shadow Generations. SEGA lists PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam, and Epic Games Store. The listed Xbox and PC storefront versions are digital-only. The original release was October 25, 2024; the Nintendo Switch 2 release followed on June 5, 2025. SEGA’s product page gives Japanese prices, which should not be applied to other regions. See the official product information for platform and regional details.
A past in-game Shadow item
Sonic Rumble Party ran a 35th anniversary event from June 10 to July 8, 2026 UTC. Its official event notice lists a King Shadow skin among Red Star Ring Shop additions. That was a time-limited in-game event, not evidence of a physical Shadow collection now on sale.

Other Sonic anniversary releases
SEGA’s anniversary products also include the music album Forever Fast – 35th Anniversary of Sonic The Hedgehog. The June 5, 2026 announcement describes a two-disc CD with 22 tracks, released June 24, 2026, catalog number WWSM-001–002, and a Japanese list price of ¥3,500 including tax. It includes a new recording of “Escape From The City” featuring Nathan Sharp (NateWantsToBattle). This is a broader Sonic anniversary album, not a Shadow collection; SEGA’s announcement links to Amazon.co.jp.
Why the anniversary is being marked in 2026
Sonic debuted in the 1991 game Sonic the Hedgehog. In its March 27, 2026 anniversary announcement, SEGA reported more than 1.77 billion cumulative series units sold, combining full games and free-to-play titles. That is SEGA’s reported unit count, not a count of unique players. See SEGA’s announcement for the anniversary background and figure.
