In Diablo 4, the only stash-sharing rule Blizzard states explicitly is for Solo Self-Found (SSF) characters: they share their stash with other SSF characters on the same account, and no other character type. Blizzard does not spell out stash access for every standard character, so you should not assume that every character on an account draws from one shared stash.
What Blizzard confirms about SSF stash sharing
Blizzard’s description of SSF in its 3.1 PTR notes says SSF characters share their own stash, currency, Paragon, and more only with other SSF characters on their account. Two related limits come with that rule. SSF characters cannot trade with other players, and the SSF selection lasts for the length of the Season. If you create a standard character on the same account, the SSF rule does not extend to it.

What happens to the stash when a Season ends
Blizzard’s Season of the Malignant launch notes describe what happens at rollover. Seasonal characters and their progress move to the Eternal Realm when a Season ends, and the items you collected transfer with them, including items in your Seasonal stash. The exact wording in that post is: “All items you collected, including in your Seasonal stash, will be transferred too.”

The mechanics of that transfer were spelled out for one transition only. For the move from Season of the Malignant to Season of Blood, Blizzard said transferred stash items would appear in a Withdraw Only tab in the Eternal Realm. The Season of Blood guidance also set a deadline for claiming unclaimed items. That deadline and the tab behavior belong to that transition. Do not treat them as the rule for later Seasons; check the notes for the Season you are in.

Why Paragon and War Plans sharing does not answer the stash question
Blizzard’s season notes describe several other systems that are shared within partitions, and they can look like stash rules. They are not.
- Paragon Levels are shared within the same Realm and mode, according to Blizzard’s Season of Hatred Rising notes. That rule governs Paragon progress only. It does not say which items a standard character can draw from the stash.
- War Plans progress is shared across qualifying characters on an account within the Eternal/Seasonal, Normal/Hardcore, and Normal/SSF partitions, according to the Season of Hell’s Legacy notes. That is a War Plans rule. It does not establish that stash access follows the same partitions.

How to check your own stash situation
- Confirm your character’s state in the character selection screen before assuming the SSF rule applies. SSF is a selection made for the Season.
- If you play SSF, expect stash items to be shared only with your other SSF characters on that account.
- If you are moving between a Season and the Eternal Realm, read that Season’s launch and transition notes, because the transfer mechanics can change from one Season to the next.
- If you play Hardcore or Normal characters and want to know whether an alt can use your stash, the cited notes do not answer that. Test it on your own account, or check the current season’s post on the official Diablo IV news page.
Blizzard’s official news page is at news.blizzard.com; the season notes linked above are the primary sources for each rule described here.
Blizzard’s wording is the only firm footing for this topic. Where its notes are silent, the honest answer is that the rule is not stated, not that the stash is shared.
