Neither project has an independent security audit established here; TinyBlkDog explicitly says not to use its plugin on official servers.
Which Titanfall 2 VR mod are you considering?
Two distinct projects use the Titanfall 2 VR name. Their safety and multiplayer guidance should not be mixed together.

Is the Titanfall 2 VR mod safe to install?
No independent security audit or malware analysis is established for either project, so the available documentation cannot prove that a release binary is safe. Treat each as community software and decide whether its disclosed design and risks are acceptable to you.
CircuitLord: separate profile, but closed-source mod binaries
CircuitLord says its installer finds Titanfall 2 through Steam, EA, or Xbox and installs Northstar and the VR mod into a separate TF2VR profile. According to the project, ordinary Titanfall 2 launches remain unmodded, and VR campaign progress and settings are stored separately under %LOCALAPPDATA%RespawnTitanfall2_VR. The installer also describes a SHA-256 manifest for installer downloads and a record of files it writes for updates and uninstall.

Those are the maintainer’s descriptions of the installer design, not an independent verification or a guarantee that user configuration cannot be affected. The repository says its installer source is MIT-licensed but the mods are closed source. It warns: “These mods and this installer are community projects, not affiliated with or endorsed by the game developers or publishers. Use at your own risk.”
TinyBlkDog: manual Northstar plugin installation
TinyBlkDog’s README describes the plugin as alpha v0.1.1 and requires an OpenXR runtime and a PC-VR-capable GPU. Its manual process assumes Northstar is already installed and launches successfully: close the game, then copy the plugin DLL and INI from the release ZIP to Titanfall2R2Northstarplugins.

The maintainer reports development and testing with a Meta Quest 3 and Play For Dream MR using Virtual Desktop’s VDXR runtime. Other headsets and runtimes are untested, not stated to be incompatible. This small, maintainer-reported test set is not independent compatibility validation.

Northstar’s manual installation documentation describes the client as PC-only and requires an installed copy of the game. It directs users to download Northstar from its releases and copy files into the game directory, then install mods and any required dependencies. The documentation notes that the default EA App game folder may not be writable by non-admin processes. Its legacy manual-install page points readers to the replacement NorthstarDocs wiki: NorthstarDocs.

Can it affect multiplayer?
TinyBlkDog’s plugin: keep it off official servers
The plugin README states: “Do not use this on official servers.” The author says the aim command is written as a correctly checksummed user command that a server cannot distinguish from a gamepad command, and says this is against the EULA. That is the mod author’s disclosure, not independent server testing or legal analysis.
For private Northstar servers, the README tells users to ask the server owner. It also claims Northstar has no anticheat or client attestation, so a server cannot detect the VR client or enforce a policy either way. The author notes VR’s wider field of view and an eye-height correction difference on dedicated servers. These points should be understood as the plugin maintainer’s statements, not independently verified behavior.

CircuitLord’s project: multiplayer status is not established
CircuitLord’s reviewed installer page describes a campaign VR conversion but does not specify multiplayer support or an official-server policy. Its separate profile is an installation-isolation measure, not evidence that multiplayer use is safe or allowed.

Northstar vanilla compatibility is not approval
Northstar documents a vanilla-compatibility mode using the -vanilla launch option and disabling mods marked with an exclamation mark. Its documentation cautions that not all mods are guaranteed to work in that mode. It does not grant either VR project multiplayer approval, so do not treat vanilla compatibility as permission to use a plugin on official servers.

- Identify the exact project and follow only its own installation instructions; do not apply one project’s safety or multiplayer claims to the other.
