Amped and Low Key are two forms of Toxtricity, and both are Electric/Poison-type. The clearest gameplay distinction in the official Pokémon Sword and Shield listings is their secondary ability: Amped is paired with Plus, while Low Key is paired with Minus. Both forms also have Punk Rock.
How the forms differ
| Feature | Amped Form | Low Key Form |
|---|---|---|
| Type | Electric/Poison | Electric/Poison |
| Listed abilities | Punk Rock / Plus | Punk Rock / Minus |
| Official sound description | Its electricity sounds like a melody played on an electric guitar. | It produces a rhythmic sound like an electric bass guitar keeping a precise beat. |
| Official temperament description | Confident, short-tempered, and aggressive. | Self-regarding and more likely to taunt than start a fight. |
These descriptions and ability listings come from the official Amped Form and Low Key Form pages.
What the ability difference means in battle
Punk Rock is shared
Both forms have Punk Rock. The official Sword and Shield pages say it boosts sound-based moves and reduces damage taken from sound-based moves to half the regular amount.
Plus and Minus are conditional
The Pokémon Pokédex explains that Plus or Minus boosts Special Attack when an ally with either Plus or Minus is also in battle. That makes the listed secondary abilities relevant to team composition; it is not a general claim that one Toxtricity form has higher Special Attack. See the official Toxtricity Pokédex entry for the ability description.

Do the forms have different stats?
The cited official form pages and Pokédex entry do not establish a numerical base-stat advantage for Amped or Low Key. The supported distinction is their listed secondary ability and their flavor descriptions, not a claim that one form is stronger overall.
What the descriptions say about each form
The official pages distinguish Amped through its guitar-like electricity and aggressive disposition, and Low Key through its precise bass-like rhythm and taunting temperament. These are character descriptions, not evidence of a battle-stat difference. The Low Key page also says its electrical organ can generate “15,000 volts”; that is fictional Pokédex flavor text, not a real-world measurement.
