No Bedrock 1.20 string duper is verified by the available evidence, so there are no reliable build steps to give. The often-cited tripwire string duper is tied to a Java Edition bug record, and Java redstone behavior does not automatically translate to Bedrock. If you need string in Bedrock, use ordinary collection methods instead.
Why Java tripwire duper instructions do not prove a Bedrock design
Mojang’s legacy issue tracker entry, “String can be duplicated using tripwire hooks,” is indexed as a Java Edition bug, including Java 1.20.1; it does not establish a Bedrock 1.20 exploit. The tracker page itself was unavailable for direct inspection, so its indexed version list should not be treated as proof that every listed release or server setup behaves identically. Edition compatibility matters for redstone contraptions. Microsoft explains that Java and Bedrock have distinct implementations, including differences in redstone behavior and update mechanics, meaning a circuit copied from a Java tutorial may not work the same way in Bedrock. Microsoft’s edition comparison describes those differences.
“Bedrock 1.20” also covers multiple patch releases. No patch-specific reproduction establishes that a tripwire string duper works in those Bedrock versions. A claim that one does should identify the exact patch and demonstrate the mechanism in vanilla Bedrock, separately from server modifications or add-ons.

Ways to get string in Bedrock without a duper
Minecraft’s string guide lists several ordinary sources. These methods produce or collect string; none duplicates it. Minecraft’s string guide covers common sources and uses.

These references do not establish comparable Bedrock 1.20 rates, so there is no supported yield ranking. A spider-spawner farm can provide ongoing collection, but it is a farm—not a string duper.

Version note about crafting string from cobwebs
A community-maintained reference reports that Bedrock Preview 1.20.10.20 removed the recipe for crafting string from cobwebs. That is a preview-specific note, not a universal statement about every Bedrock 1.20 patch.
