No—there is no Guitar Hero game for Nintendo Switch in the available evidence. The closest current alternative is Fortnite Festival, a free rhythm-game mode inside Fortnite with guitar and bass parts. It is not a Guitar Hero release, and guitar-controller compatibility depends on the specific game, console and controller.
What is the closest Guitar Hero alternative on Switch?
Fortnite Festival is the closest current option identified. Epic lists Nintendo Switch as a platform for Fortnite, and says Festival is free to play. Its note-highway gameplay includes guitar and bass parts, including Pro Lead and Pro Bass.
Festival’s featured Jam Tracks rotate. Some are available to play free for limited periods; additional tracks can be earned through season progression or purchased with V-Bucks. Track availability and prices can change, so check the in-game listings rather than relying on a fixed song count or price.
Epic says Pro Lead and Pro Bass can be played with supported guitar controllers, but that general guidance does not confirm that a particular Switch guitar controller works with Festival. Epic also explains that these parts can be played without a supported guitar controller, using other input options.

Is Nintendo’s Guitar app the same as Guitar Hero?
No. Nintendo’s catalog lists Guitar, published by Sabec, for Switch, but it is a separate guitar-learning and playing app—not a Guitar Hero franchise game. Its listed features include touchscreen and Joy-Con controls, with novice, learn and compose modes.
Can you use a guitar controller with Fortnite Festival on Switch?
A Switch-compatible guitar controller exists: Turtle Beach’s March 12, 2026 investor presentation identifies a Riffmaster wireless guitar controller for Nintendo Switch, gives its launch as October 2025, and says the product expanded to Switch and Switch 2. That establishes a platform-targeted product, not compatibility with every Switch rhythm game.

Before buying a controller for Festival, confirm support for the exact combination you plan to use:
- Your console: original Nintendo Switch or Switch 2.
- Your controller: the exact Riffmaster model and connection method.
- Your game and mode: whether Festival supports guitar-controller input on that console.
Epic’s guitar-controller support information does not name the Switch Riffmaster, so the available documentation does not establish that the controller works with Festival on either Switch generation. Check current compatibility information from the game and controller makers before purchasing.
