Is Steam free, and does that make the game free?
Steam is free to install, but Universe Sandbox is paid software. Installing the Steam client does not provide access to the game without purchasing it.
Can a school get a discounted license?
Qualifying educational institutions can ask the developer about recurring yearly licenses. Discounts depend on the number of computers or students, and the education page does not publish a fixed price. The licenses include an offline, DRM-free copy and free updates during the subscription. Institutions need to contact the developer for pricing and eligibility details through the education page.

Can you get a refund instead of a free trial?
A refund is not a free trial, and approval is not guaranteed. The developer’s FAQ says Steam purchasers can request a refund within 14 days if they have played for less than two hours. Check Steam’s current policy for the terms in force when you buy. If you bought directly from the developer, the FAQ says to contact the developer to request a refund.
