No confirmed Steam Deck or Steam Machine Verified status has been established for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2. The developer has announced the game’s October 14, 2026 release on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version planned for later. A preview of a pre-release demo running on Steam Deck is available, but that is not a Valve compatibility badge.
What is confirmed about Steam Deck and Steam Machine verification?
The available sources do not confirm either Valve badge for Boltgun 2. A Steam Machine compatibility listing dated October 5, 2026, does not include the game among its listed ratings; because that is a dated snapshot, the omission does not prove that Valve has not rated it. The title-specific Steam compatibility report is the check to make for an up-to-date status.
Steam Deck playability observations and Valve certification are different evidence. A game may run on a Deck without being marked Verified, and a preview of a demo cannot establish the status of the final release. Check the game’s Steam store listing close to launch for any current badge or compatibility notice.
What did the Steam Deck demo preview report?
In a May 21, 2026 hands-on preview, Steam Deck HQ writer Noah Kupetsky described performance on a pre-release demo. The observations were made at 1280×800 resolution and 100% resolution scale.

These are observations from one preview of a demo build, not a final-release performance guarantee or a Valve rating. The reported variation between smaller fights and larger encounters also means the preview should not be read as a single frame-rate promise for every part of the game.
When does Boltgun 2 release, and on which platforms?
Auroch Digital announced that Boltgun 2 launches October 14, 2026, on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The developer says the Nintendo Switch 2 version will follow at a later date; it has not specified that date in the announcement. The October 14 Steam date is also listed by PC Gamer’s October release calendar.

What has the developer announced about the sequel?
Auroch Digital describes a branching campaign with more than 30 levels, in which players choose the next planet. The developer has also announced 40+ new enemies drawn from the Chaos factions of Nurgle, Tzeentch, Khorne, and Slaanesh.
The two announced playable characters are Ultramarine Malum Caedo and Sister of Battle Nyra Veyrath. Auroch Digital also says composer Mick Gordon created music for the final boss battle. These are developer-announced features, not independent assessments of the finished game.
