No. As of October 8, 2026, Microsoft’s US Store lists Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at $22.99 per month, not $30. The $30 figure is a historical US price. Xbox’s April 2026 announcement also changed when future Call of Duty games will join the service, so the price change came with a notable timing tradeoff.
What is the current Xbox Game Pass Ultimate price?
The current US Microsoft Store listing is $22.99 per month. That is the US listing, not a worldwide rate; prices and promotions can vary by market, so check the Xbox or Microsoft Store page for your country before subscribing.

Xbox’s April 21, 2026 announcement gave a separate French price change: Ultimate fell from €26.99 to €20.99 per month. Those are France-specific figures and should not be used as US prices.
What changed alongside the price?
Xbox said future Call of Duty releases would no longer join Ultimate and PC Game Pass at launch. Instead, future entries are due to arrive during the following holiday period, roughly a year later. This change concerns future releases: Xbox said Call of Duty games already in the catalog would remain available.

Games, features, and availability vary by region, plan, platform, and time.
What do you lose if you switch from Ultimate?
It depends on the plan available in your market and which Ultimate benefits you actually use. Check the local Xbox plan comparison before switching; do not assume every lower-priced plan has the same platform access or bundled extras.

- Third-party subscriptions and perks: Fortnite Crew, EA Play, Ubisoft+ Classics, in-game benefits, Rewards, and discounts are listed among Ultimate’s benefits. Compare the local plan details for what is included before giving up a bundle you use.
- Cloud gaming: Xbox announced that monthly cloud gaming hour limits begin in November 2026. Its September 3 announcement lists 15 hours for Ultimate. Xbox said additional details—including pricing, eligible games, availability, and how to check remaining time—would follow in November, so those specifics were still pending on October 8.
- Online console multiplayer: Xbox lists this as an Ultimate benefit. Confirm whether the alternative plan you are considering includes it for your console use.
Microsoft currently describes Ultimate on its Store listing as including more than 300 console and PC games. That is a vendor catalog claim, not a guarantee that a specific title will remain available; the catalog can change.

How to cancel or manage renewal
Subscriptions recur until canceled. Xbox says you can cancel through your Microsoft account or Xbox console. Check your next billing date and cancel before it if you do not want another renewal. Microsoft’s Store terms also say it may increase charges with at least 30 days’ notice, so the current listed price is not a promise that the price will remain fixed.
