It is also associated with the Soaring Eagle encounter, The Eagle’s Shadow Wandering Tale, and a cave route reportedly leading toward a chest with the Soaring Spin scroll. The exact Soaring Eagle unlock requirement is disputed by available guides, so check both relevant quest states and your in-game encounter tracker.
Where to find Jade Mirror Pond
Look in southwestern Kaifeng, using Pipa Chasm and Martial Temple as nearby orientation points. Nerd’s Chalk identifies Jade Mirror Pond as a Teleport Landmark, making it a useful return point once you have access to it. Nerd’s Chalk’s location guide describes the surrounding landmarks, but does not provide exact coordinates.
The official interactive map lists Kaifeng City as a region, but its page was not accessible for confirming a Jade Mirror Pond pin or map-filter instructions. Official Where Winds Meet interactive map
How Jade Mirror Pond connects to Soaring Eagle
The location guide says the Soaring Eagle encounter begins by interacting with Zhenzhen near the waterbank. However, the guides disagree about what unlocks that encounter:
- Nerd’s Chalk says to complete the Jinming Pool Campaign quest.
- Game8’s search-result summary says to complete The Eagle’s Shadow Wandering Tale.
Game8’s full article was not accessible, so the disagreement cannot be resolved from the available guide information. Check your progress in both quests, then consult the in-game encounter tracker and return to Zhenzhen if Soaring Eagle is still unavailable. The guides do not establish whether one prerequisite is sufficient or both are required. Nerd’s Chalk; Game8
Game8 reports a reward of 50 Kaifeng Exploration points for Soaring Eagle. Treat that as guide-reported information and verify the reward in your current game build.

The Eagle’s Shadow and nearby exploration
Nerd’s Chalk associates Jade Mirror Pond with The Eagle’s Shadow and its environmental clues. If you are following the tale, use the pond as your local landmark and investigate the surrounding area rather than assuming the tale and encounter have identical triggers; the available guides describe them differently.
Reported route to the Soaring Spin scroll
Nerd’s Chalk reports that a cave entrance by the pond leads into an underground path connected to Martial Temple. A hidden chest along that route reportedly contains the Soaring Spin scroll. The guide does not give turn-by-turn directions, so use the pond and Martial Temple as orientation points and explore the cave path without relying on an unverified sequence of turns.
